SUMMARY The Auditor reviews completed Workers’ Compensation premium audits for accuracy, consistency, and alignment with policy and underwriting records. This role evaluates classifications, payroll, ownership, endorsements, and entity relationships; identifies and corrects discrepancies; responds to audit inquiries and disputes; and works with underwriting, compliance, brokers, carriers, auditors, and audit vendors to support accurate policy and premium outcomes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following: Review completed premium audits for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company, carrier, bureau, and state requirements. Compare current audits to prior audits and policy history to identify payroll changes, classification changes, ownership changes, or other discrepancies requiring review. Evaluate class code assignments, payroll allocations, employee duties, ownership, officer status, endorsements, and combinability between related entities. Confirm audit findings are consistent with the underwriting file, policy records, endorsements, applications, inspections, and supporting documentation. Research and resolve discrepancies identified during audit review and document the basis for decisions. Make or coordinate policy corrections and endorsements required as a result of audit findings. Review audit disputes, evaluate supporting documentation, communicate findings, and process appropriate revisions. Respond to a wide variety of questions received through the audit inbox from brokers, insureds, auditors, vendors, carriers, and internal teams. Communicate with underwriting and compliance to coordinate policy updates, classification changes, ownership changes, and other corrections. Work with field auditors, audit vendors, and carriers to obtain missing information, clarify findings, and resolve audit issues. Research business and policy information through vendor portals, carrier systems, public records, and internal systems. Review late-reported claims identified during audits and verify whether the claimant was an employee at the time of injury when requested. Maintain accurate records of audit findings, corrections, disputes, communications, and supporting documentation. Build and maintain effective working relationships with brokers, carriers, auditors, audit vendors, underwriting, compliance, and other business partners. Perform related administrative work, reporting, and special projects as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Minimum two years of insurance experience, preferably in Workers’ Compensation premium audit, underwriting, or compliance. • Working knowledge of Workers’ Compensation premium audit practices, classifications, payroll reporting, ownership rules, endorsements, and entity combinability. • Strong analytical, research, organizational, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to review detailed records, identify inconsistencies, and make sound decisions based on available documentation. • Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain audit findings and required corrections. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to work in carrier, vendor, bureau, and internal insurance systems. • Ability to work independently in a hybrid or remote environment while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS Hybrid/remote office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires frequent computer and phone use. Pay Range $22.00/per hour - $28.00/per hour Hourly The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
