We are seeking a driven, highly analytical Senior Auditor to lead and execute external audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of Australian entities. Reporting directly to Audit Managers and Directors, you will manage engagement planning, risk assessments, fieldwork execution, file finalization, and the active supervision and mentoring of junior audit staff.
Your Impact
Audit Strategy & Planning: Develop risk-based audit strategies for reporting/non-reporting entities, proprietary companies, listed public companies, and Australian subsidiaries of foreign corporations-agreeing timetables, budgets, and tax review scopes with leadership.
Fieldwork Execution & Technical Testing: Conduct end-to-end audit procedures adhering to established audit methodology, incorporating financial statement assertions, touchstone/materiality testing, sampling plans, and business risk evaluations.
Review, Completion & Statutory Reporting: Review junior staff workpapers, draft management letters, perform clearance of review points, prepare financial statements in compliance with Australian reporting frameworks, and assist in finalizing billing and fee letters.
Team Supervision & Client Engagement: Allocate engagement tasks, monitor budget time/cost variances, provide on-the-job training and coaching to junior auditors, and build trusted relationships with client stakeholders.
What You Bring
Education & Professional Study: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; CA or CPA qualification completed or near completion.
The Experience: Minimum 3 years of solid audit experience within a Chartered firm environment supporting Australian audit standards.
Technical & Software Mastery: High technology literacy with hands-on proficiency in audit and accounting software (CaseWare, APS, Xero, MYOB, U-track, and Microsoft Office), strong knowledge of Australian accounting/auditing standards, and sharp analytical research skills.
Core Competencies: Strong commercial acumen, exceptional attention to detail, proactive problem-solving ability, leadership and mentoring capacity, and superior written and verbal English communication.
