Automation Engineer

We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!

The Role

• Design and own end-to-end test strategies across all levels, including unit, integration, system, UI, stress, and performance tests for medical software products.

• Build and enhance test harnesses and CI pipelines for early regression detection, ensuring stability and scalability for C++ desktop, .NET, and modern web stacks.

• Plan, implement, and analyze load and performance tests, identifying bottlenecks and driving measurable quality improvements with development teams.

• Collaborate closely with development, architecture, and product management, acting as the team's quality advocate and embedding test-driven "Shift-Left" engineering practices.

• Utilize AI agents and tools to generate, maintain, and triage tests, building reusable automation skills and workflows for the QA community.

What You'll Need

• Several years of senior-level test automation experience with a deep understanding of multi-layered test frameworks and proven practice in load and performance testing, ideally in regulated or safety-critical environments.

• Excellent academic background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable technical field with strong grades.

• Strong programming skills in at least one language such as C#, Java, Python, or TypeScript; experience with modern test tools, version control, and CI/CD is a plus.

• Demonstrated effective use of AI in QA workflows, ideally with experience in agentic coding tools and AI pipelines.

• Fluent English and German language skills, strong problem-solving abilities, innovative mindset, proactivity, entrepreneurial spirit, and high quality standards.
