We’re hiring an Automation Engineer to build reliable workflows that connect our systems a Pet Media Group (PMG) is a fast-growing scale-up that acquires, launches, and develops market-leading pet marketplaces globally. Every year, over 1.5 million pets find new homes through our platforms, which operate in six countries: USA, UK, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and Sweden (and more on their way…). One of our flagship platforms is Pets4Homes.co.uk . The pet rehoming experience has remained largely unchanged for decades. As PMG continues to scale rapidly across multiple markets, we’re looking for an Automation Engineer (AI enabled) to help us build and maintain the automation backbone that powers our growth, connects our systems, and improves efficiency across our operations. Why This Role Matters Automation sits at the heart of PMG’s evolution. From powering our customer support flows to synchronizing marketing data, financial systems, and internal tools — automation is what enables our small, high-performing teams to operate like a much larger organization. You’ll be the connecting our ecosystem — designing, building, and maintaining workflows that ensure data flows seamlessly across systems and that our teams can focus on what really matters: improving trust and experience for pet buyers and breeders worldwide. What You’ll Do Design, build, and maintain n8n workflows that automate internal processes across marketing, support, operations, and finance. Connect APIs and data sources such as HubSpot, Slack, Notion, Google Sheets, Stripe, Typeform and our internal systems. Collaborate with PMG stakeholders across markets to analyze workflows, identify bottlenecks, and build scalable automation solutions. Implement strong error handling, retry logic, and logging in all automations to ensure reliability and transparency. Maintain clear documentation and reusable components to accelerate automation adoption across teams. Stay on top of automation best practices and new capabilities — and help PMG continuously improve its automation infrastructure. Partner with engineers, analysts, and product managers to prototype and ship internal tools powered by automation. What We’re Looking For Proven experience working with n8n in a production environment. Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth, JSON , and workflow design. Experience automating processes across common SaaS tools like HubSpot, Airtable, Slack, Notion, Stripe , and Google Workspace . Ability to write and debug JavaScript functions Excellent problem-solving and communication skills — you can translate complex systems into clear automation logic. A structured, detail-oriented mindset with a passion for operational excellence. Curiosity, ownership, and a “builder’s mindset” — you thrive on making things faster, smarter, and simpler. Bonus Points Familiarity with SQL , data pipelines, or simple ETL processes. Understanding of marketplace operations , payment flows, or growth automation.
