Azure Data Architect

On behalf of one of our key partners RED now has a new opportunity for an Azure Data Architect to join them on a new project.

The initial contract will be for 6 months and is to start ASAP. This role will be 100% remote.

Specific skills/experience:

• 8+ years' experience developing data ingestion and transformation pipelines using Azure Databricks, Synapse Notebooks and Azure Data Factory (ADF), with strong hands-on expertise in Delta Lake, Delta Tables, ADLS Gen2, Auto Loader, Delta Live Tables, Databricks SQL, ETL/ELT, data warehousing and data lakes.
• Strong technical expertise in Azure Databricks (cluster management, notebook development), PySpark, Spark, Hadoop, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, SQL, NoSQL, Microsoft Fabric, Spark Streaming, Power BI, and integrating Databricks with ADLS Gen2, Synapse and Power BI for end-to-end analytics.
• Proven experience delivering secure, scalable and high-performance cloud data solutions, applying best practices in cloud security, CI/CD, Git, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates/IaC, query optimisation and large-scale data pipeline performance.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and leadership skills, with experience explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, mentoring data engineering teams, and delivering robust analytics and reporting solutions.
