This is a temporary position running until 31st December 2026. As an MVFE Team Manager, your primary responsibility will be to support and manage a team of Measurement Fieldwork Officers to assess the level of fraud and error within the benefit caseload. You'll proactively support the team to identify and refer error cases for remedial action, while recommending controls to support continuous improvement. This work will involve producing regular reports that analyse risks, threats, and potential mitigations to reduce the impact of fraud and error. In this role, you'll guide your team through complex queries and cases, with a strong focus on coaching and capability development to ensure a responsive and evolving service. Collaboration will be key, as you'll engage with a wide range of stakeholders across Social Security Scotland and the wider Scottish Government Programme. Additionally, you'll support the MVFE Team Leader in achieving team objectives and deliverables, while contributing to the longer-term strategic direction. Responsibilities Explore and implement opportunities to identify and correct fraud and error, utilising the findings of fieldwork exercises to influence team activity. Contribute to analysis and production of reports on fraud and error risk, to inform continuous improvement. Workforce planning, recruitment, induction and training. Provide guidance and support to staff as required, especially for unusual, high interest or complex cases. Coach, develop, lead and motivate a team of MVFE Measurement Fieldwork Officers to achieve team objectives. Ensure that appropriate Management Information is reported to the MVFE Team Leader and the MVFE Lead, to help inform service development and meet reporting requirements. Work in partnership with the Analysis and Insights Team by providing the data needed for them to calculate and publish the estimates and levels of monetary value of fraud and error within the public domain, which will also be reviewed by Audit Scotland. Work collaboratively with key stakeholders across Social Security Scotland to ensure all teams impacted by the work conducted by MVFE are sighted on all risks, themes and trends.
