Role Description As a Back End Developer at BisChat, you will design, implement, and maintain server-side logic and APIs that power our messaging platform in a full-time, remote capacity. You will work closely with other developers, product managers, and QA to build scalable, secure, and reliable backend services that support real-time messaging, media handling, and upcoming broadcasting features. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean and efficient code, optimizing database queries and data models, integrating with front-end components, and improving system performance and reliability. You will participate in code reviews, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to architectural decisions that enhance scalability, security, and user privacy. Collaboration in an agile environment and proactive communication with the team will be essential.
Qualifications

• Strong Back-End Web Development experience, including building and maintaining APIs and microservices.
• Solid Software Development skills with a focus on designing, implementing, and testing robust backend systems.
• Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and applying clean architecture and design patterns.
• Foundational knowledge in Front-End Development sufficient to collaborate effectively with front-end engineers.
• Advanced Programming skills in one or more modern backend languages (e.g., Node.js, Java, Python, Go, or similar).
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, caching strategies, and message queues.
• Knowledge of security best practices, authentication/authorization, and data privacy principles.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization or orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Comfort working in agile environments with code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
