We’re a small, founder-led team based in Amsterdam, moving fast and shipping daily. You’ll work directly with the founders, see the impact of your code immediately, and help shape the product direction. It’s intense at times, but collaborative and rewarding. We’re remote-friendly, but if you’re local, our Amsterdam office is open to you.
🧑🏻💻 About the role
As our Back End Developer Intern, you’ll help design, develop, and maintain reliable, scalable backend services for our AI-powered platform. You’ll work mostly in Python, contribute to API design, and integrate our platform with hotel systems and third-party services.
You’ll have real ownership — from idea to deployment — and gain a front-row seat to how a high-velocity AI startup builds, tests, and scales.
🎯 What you'll do
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services in Python.
- Use modern AI development tools (e.g., Claude Code) to boost speed and quality.
- Implement and optimize SQL/NoSQL databases for performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver complete features.
- Contribute to API design and integrations with external systems.
- Work with Git and follow Scrum for structured delivery.
- Participate in code reviews and enforce quality, performance, and security best practices.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize production systems.
🤝 You’ll be a great fit if you:
- Are proficient in Python and backend development fundamentals.
- Understand databases (SQL or NoSQL).
- Have experience with Git and agile workflows.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code.
- Are curious, structured, and able to work independently.
- Communicate well in English.
Bonus points if you:
- Have used AWS or similar cloud platforms.
- Have experience or interest in AI/ML.
- Know basic frontend tech (JavaScript, React, Vue, Flask).

💸 Internship details

- Duration: 4-6 months
- Time commitment: 4 or 5 days per week days per week
