Key Responsibilities – Backend Development, API Engineering & System Integration Backend Application Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performing backend applications that support our digital products and services. API Design & Integration: Build, document, and optimise reliable RESTful APIs that enable secure communication between internal platforms, external services, and frontend applications. Database Development: Design and manage SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring data integrity, performance, scalability, and effective information management. Performance & Reliability: Monitor systems, investigate technical issues, and implement improvements that enhance application performance, availability, and resilience. Agile Team Collaboration: Work closely with frontend developers, product specialists, QA professionals, and other colleagues to deliver high-quality solutions through Agile development practices. Backend Developer Requirements – Technical Skills & Professional Experience Professional experience in backend development using Python, Java, or Node.js . Proven experience designing, developing, testing, and integrating RESTful APIs . Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database technologies. Experience with Git and modern source control and collaborative development workflows. Understanding of automated testing, deployment processes, and software development best practices. Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker is advantageous.
