About The Role
We are seeking a talented DevOps Engineer / Backend Developer (m/w/d) to join our team at our Hamburg location immediately, working full-time. This role offers an exciting opportunity for recent graduates or professionals eager to actively participate in digital transformation initiatives. You will be entrusted with real responsibilities from day one, not only in daily operations but also in the development and enhancement of our IT landscape. Working within a small, cohesive team, you will receive comprehensive onboarding and have the opportunity to grow alongside experienced colleagues.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our infrastructure, supporting system orchestration, and ensuring stable operations with tools like Docker and Portainer. You will play a key part in implementing security standards, reviewing and improving system security, and proactively thinking about future security needs. Your involvement in project planning and execution will be vital, working closely with developers, IT service teams, and product owners using Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban. Additionally, you will contribute to backend software development, enhancing existing solutions and introducing innovative ideas. A particular focus will be on exploring and integrating AI-driven development and automation, actively shaping how these technologies are applied within our organization. Knowledge of cloud migration processes will be advantageous, giving you the chance to influence our transition from on-premise systems to cloud environments.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a completed degree in Computer Science, Media Informatics, or a comparable qualification. Entry-level applicants with relevant practical experience from internships, projects, or thesis work are also encouraged to apply. Essential technical skills include familiarity with Unix and Windows Server environments, Docker, Portainer, PHP/Laravel, GitLab, and project management tools such as Asana. Experience with database systems like MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, or MSSQL is also required. A good sense of prioritization and organizational skills, along with initial exposure to project management methodologies, will be beneficial. An interest in emerging technologies, particularly AI, and a willingness to continuously learn and develop are highly valued. Responsibility, teamwork, and effective communication are key personal qualities for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain the stability of our IT infrastructure, including system orchestration and automation tools like Docker and Portainer.
- Assess and enhance system security by implementing and refining security standards, conducting regular reviews, and proactively identifying potential vulnerabilities.
- Participate actively in project planning, prioritization, and execution, working closely with cross-functional teams following Agile principles.
- Develop, improve, and maintain backend software solutions, contributing innovative ideas to enhance functionality and performance.
- Engage with AI and automation technologies, exploring their application to optimize workflows and develop new features.
- Assist in the migration of on-premise systems to cloud environments, contributing to strategic planning and execution of cloud transition projects.
