Position Overview We’re looking for a backend developer to build the services and infrastructure powering our AI products. You’ll design APIs, orchestrate AI/LLM integrations, and ensure our systems are scalable, reliable, and fast. This is a hybrid role requiring at least 3 days in office. Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs. Integrate and orchestrate AI/LLM providers and models — API integrations, prompt pipelines, retrieval, and vector search. Build data pipelines and manage storage, including vector databases and search infrastructure. Ensure performance, scalability, observability, and reliability of AI-driven systems. Handle streaming responses, rate limiting, caching, and cost optimization for model usage. Collaborate with frontend and ML teams; participate in code reviews and architecture decisions. Requirements 3+ years of professional backend development experience Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (Python, Node.js/TypeScript, Go, or Java) Hands-on experience building AI/ML-powered systems (LLM API integration, RAG pipelines, model serving, or similar) Experience designing and building REST APIs (and/or streaming/WebSocket APIs) Solid understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL) and data modeling Familiarity with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure) Legally authorized to work in Canada and able to commute to Vancouver for hybrid work Preferred Qualifications Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Elasticsearch, pgvector, Weaviate) and semantic search Familiarity with RAG, embeddings, and prompt engineering Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) Knowledge of message queues and event-driven architecture Experience managing LLM cost, latency, and observability in production Why Join iCOUNTER This is a rare opportunity to help define a new cybersecurity category while working alongside industry pioneers, experienced operators, and world-class investors.
