Job Description This is a remote position. About the role Verizol builds corporate intelligence and verification APIs for India — company search, daily incorporation alerts, KYB checks, and a growing catalogue of business-verification endpoints. You'll work on that API platform alongside our backend engineer. This is a real engineering role with real code review, not a shadowing exercise. You'll ship to production in your first few weeks. We're hiring for aptitude and appetite, not a checklist. If you've built things and can reason about why they work, we want to talk. What you'll actually do Weeks 1–4 — get productive Set up locally, read the codebase, ship small fixes and improvements. Write and improve tests for existing endpoints. Fix bugs from the backlog with guidance on each PR. Months 2–3 — own small features Build straightforward endpoints end to end: schema, business logic, validation, tests, docs. Write integration adapters for upstream verification vendors — take an external API's messy response and normalise it into our schema. Improve OpenAPI specs and public documentation as you go. Months 4–6 — own a slice Take a small product surface as your own — a set of endpoints, an internal admin tool, or a piece of the alerts/webhook system. Handle its bugs, its tests, and its docs. Throughout: weekly one-on-ones, code review on every PR, and honest feedback on what's improving and what isn't. Requirements Must have Comfortable writing Python or JavaScript/TypeScript — you can build something non-trivial without a tutorial open. Understand what a REST API is and how HTTP works: methods, status codes, headers, JSON. Basic SQL — joins, filtering, and what an index is for. Git basics: branches, commits, pull requests. Projects we can look at. GitHub, a deployed side project, hackathon work, coursework you took further than required — anything you built and can explain. Willing to be in the Hyderabad office and available full-time for six months. Good to have (genuinely optional) FastAPI, Django, Express, or NestJS. PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker. Having consumed a third-party API in a project and dealt with its failures. Curiosity about fintech, KYC/KYB, or public-data infrastructure. Who this suits Final-year students, recent graduates, or self-taught developers switching into backend work. Formal CS background is not required — demonstrated ability is. What we expect from you Ask questions early rather than staying stuck for two days. Read error messages carefully before escalating. Take code review as information, not criticism. Write down what you learn so the next intern doesn't rediscover it. What you get Production experience on a system with paying customers, not a sandbox project. Mentorship with structured review — you'll leave writing meaningfully better code than you arrived with. Exposure to the full stack of a real API business: platform design, vendor integration, reliability, and developer experience. Certificate and reference on completion. Full-time conversion for strong performers.
