The Role: We're looking for a mid-to-senior backend developer to join a fast-moving sports media startup building a mobile app with video content and live scores. This is a full-ownership role — you'll take features from design to production, including the infrastructure side. There's no dedicated DevOps engineer on the team, so you'll need to be comfortable operating on both sides of the stack. You must be available during US business hours (PT/ET overlap). Responsibilities: Own backend features end-to-end, from architecture decisions to deployment Design and build RESTful APIs with a focus on performance and scalability Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS (ECS Fargate, Aurora, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, S3) Write and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar) Work with containerized environments using Docker Diagnose and resolve production issues independently Collaborate asynchronously with a small, distributed team Contribute clean, well-documented, maintainable code Requirements: Backend 3–6+ years of experience with Node.js (Express, Fastify, or similar) TypeScript — required PostgreSQL — required Strong RESTful API design and system design fundamentals Experience with auth patterns: JWT, OAuth Microservices architecture experience Real-time systems experience (WebSockets, streaming, pub/sub) — a plus DynamoDB and/or Redis experience — a plus Infrastructure Hands-on experience deploying and managing services on AWS Familiarity with IAM, networking basics, and cloud cost awareness Ability to write and maintain CI/CD pipelines Proficiency with Docker General Strong Git workflow Experience shipping production consumer apps Comfortable working async in distributed, cross-timezone teams Clear communicator — written English required C - K - 09062026 Wakapi Web Department Development Locations Mendoza, Other / Remote Remote status Hybrid Mendoza The Wakapi Spirit We offer excellent working conditions, an ever-evolving benefits package and a great working environment that will make you feel Wakapi is your perfect fit.
