We go beyond primary care with a full spectrum of services including cardiovascular health services, behavioral health, allergy testing and immunotherapy, in-house lab testing, imaging, chronic disease management, and other specialty health services. We aspire to aid the growth of our company by welcoming the most qualified and deserving candidates aboard. Optima is currently seeking a Behavioral Health Care Manager to join our team! The primary responsibilities of a Behavioral Health Care Manager include supervising BHCC staff, monitoring team performance, supporting complex patient cases, overseeing care coordination activities, ensuring quality and compliance standards are met, and driving positive patient outcomes. Behavioral Health Care Managers also provide mentorship, education, and ongoing support to their teams while collaborating with leadership to improve operational effectiveness and patient experience. Primary Responsibilities Supervise, mentor, and provide ongoing support to Behavioral Health Care Coordinators. Monitor team productivity, performance metrics, and quality outcomes. Conduct regular staff coaching, training, and performance evaluations. Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of care coordination staff. Oversee patient outreach, engagement, and follow-up activities conducted by the BHCC team. Review patient needs and assist staff in identifying and addressing barriers to care. Ensure coordination of services between patients, providers, and community resources. Oversee development and monitoring of individualized care plans. Support referral processes and promote appointment and treatment adherence. Monitor transitions of care, including hospital admissions and discharges. Maintain oversight of timely, accurate, and compliant documentation. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and operational effectiveness. Escalate clinical, safety, compliance, or crisis concerns to appropriate licensed staff and leadership. Analyze program metrics and identify opportunities for quality improvement and workflow optimization. Ensure team utilization of evidence-based interventions such as active listening, motivational interviewing (MI), behavioral activation, grounding techniques, coping skills reinforcement, safety planning, and problem-solving strategies to support patients experiencing crisis, anxiety, depression, or other behavioral health challenges. Behavioral Health Care Managers do not provide therapy, counseling, psychotherapy, diagnosis, or other licensed clinical treatment services. Their primary role is leadership, program oversight, care coordination management, staff development, and resource navigation. Requirements: Master's Degree in any field; or Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, Public Health, Behavioral Health, or a related field; or Bachelor's Degree in any field with at least three (3) years of relevant experience in behavioral health, healthcare, care coordination, case management, human services, or healthcare leadership; or High School Diploma/GED with six (6) or more years of relevant experience in behavioral health, healthcare, care coordination, case management, human services, or healthcare leadership. Additional Qualifications: Experience leading or supervising teams in behavioral health, care coordination, case management, healthcare, or a related human services setting. Knowledge of behavioral health conditions, community resources, and social determinants of health. Ability to effectively lead and develop multidisciplinary teams. Strong communication, engagement, coaching, and relationship-building skills. Ability to maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical standards. Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management skills. Experience monitoring productivity, performance metrics, and quality indicators. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHRs) and care management platforms. Ability to utilize and coach staff in evidence-based engagement techniques such as motivational interviewing, active listening, behavioral activation, grounding techniques, safety planning, and problem-solving strategies. Commitment to ongoing professional growth and staff development. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with Medicaid, Medicare, or managed care populations. BHT certification (if applicable). Bilingual or multilingual capabilities. Experience supporting individuals with behavioral health, substance use, or complex care needs. Previous healthcare leadership, management, or supervisory experience. Why Join Our Team?
