Billing Assistant (US Healthcare/ABA Therapy) - EST Hrs (Remote)

We are currently looking for a Billing Assistant to join a US-based provider of ABA therapy services . This role is ideal for someone with experience in US medical billing who enjoys problem-solving, working with insurance claims, and ensuring billing accuracy. PLEASE NOTE: Working Hours: Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST (3:00 PM – 12:00 AM South African time – subject to daylight savings). Public Holidays: This role requires working on both South African and U.S. public holidays (compensation for SA public holidays in accordance with the BCEA). Internet Requirements: A fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps (upload & download) and wired Ethernet capability is mandatory. Applicants without a fixed fibre line cannot be considered. Power Backup: Reliable backup required to manage load shedding or outages. Applicants without a power backup cannot be considered. Work Environment: Fully remote. Job Responsibilities: Submit and process billing claims for Medicaid and private insurance providers. Bill therapy session hours accurately through the Waystar clearinghouse. Investigate and resolve denied claims by identifying the reason for denial. Contact insurance companies to obtain claim information and resolve billing issues. Correct and resubmit denied claims in a timely manner. Assist with provider and company credentialing with insurance companies. Ensure clinicians remain credentialed with the appropriate insurance providers. Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with billing procedures. Previous experience in US medical billing , specifically submitting or processing claims to US insurance providers. Experience using Waystar or CentralReach (experience with both is highly advantageous). Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise professionally with insurance companies. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Comfortable using Microsoft Office and Outlook.
