Role Overview To take accountability and responsibility for the delivery of a large BPS project or multiple smaller projects with medium levels of risk and complexity and meet all client and project acceptance criteria in respect of delivery to timescales, costs and service readiness. The BPS Project manager has a direct influence on profitability either as a manager or an expert in a particular field. The field can relate to a variety of areas such as knowledge of a particular industry, technology, product, profession or skills area such as sales, account management or purchasing. Key Responsibilities To establish fully enabled business operations capable of supporting the client’s processes and desired business outcomes. Ensuring that all enablers required are in place, together with their ongoing administration and maintenance. To stabilise new operations and to hand them over to the agreed operational delivery structure (BAU). To support business development activity, through leading the overall solution design, project shaping and business case creation; including systems architecture, cost, commercial and contractual viability and identification of risk levels. To actively participate in the sales campaigns to demonstrate delivery capability to clients. To define detailed scope and deliverables for all projects with the Client (may be internal or external). To ensure all projects are managed to the client’s and Sopra Steria’s agreed requirements, delivering to timescales, budget, acceptance criteria, quality criteria, contractual commitments and agreed service levels in the period immediately after cutover to live operations. To manage the project in a multi-stakeholder environment, ensuring all stakeholders are informed, involved and appropriately supportive of the project. To be accountable for the overall project costs and management of all elements of the project. • To establish and agree project acceptance criteria with the Client Director and the Client which will be used to confirm achievement of objectives and appropriate sign-off into business as usual service operations. To ensure that the project is being managed in accordance with the appropriate methodology or agreed processes and procedures with regard to: - Project planning - Project control - Project reporting - Project documentation including maintenance of appropriate review documentation and audit trails - Project quality plan including risk reviews - Risk analysis and risk management - Identification and, where possible, resolution of issues (may require input from others) - Change control (with both client and suppliers). To ensure appropriate and timely reporting and escalation to the Client Director, Client (project board), line management and all service suppliers and initiate timely, corrective action where required. To identify and manage risk in his/her business activities and take responsibility for reporting risks in a timely, open and appropriate manner. To ensure implementation of effective governance processes. To utilise and champion agreed delivery methodologies and tools. To complete assignment review with the Client at the end of each project To undertake ‘Third Party’ reviews of other projects.
