Performs an intermediate level of activities related to compiling, analyzing, preparing and presenting budget information and monthly financial variances. May provide an intermediate level of activity related to compliance activities. Key Duties and Responsibilities Perform moderately complex compilation preparation and modeling of budget and forecast information for various company departments or business functions. Analyze and/or compare actual performance compared to budgeted or forecast expenses, revenues, operating income, and capital expenditures. Perform calculations and/or analyses including but not limited to: Projections/forecasts Variance analysis Operating expenses Overheads Depreciation (book/tax) Share based calculations Revenue Capital expenditures Resource need evaluation Productivity analysis Basic financial ratios Compile, verify, and/or prepare financial information including but not limited to: Budgets/Forecasts versus actual expenses Governmental/regulatory reports Financial reports Reconciliation reports Provide information and assistance to employees, governmental and/or regulatory agencies, auditing firms, management, and others concerning budgets, accounting processes, various financial reports, and forecasts. Interprets data to provide accurate budget planning, project tracking and monthly financial reporting at a Region level, for multiple legal entities (as specified by position). Provides knowledge of compliance requirements. Trains others in the proper indexing and scanning techniques for the data management system being used (as specified by position). Provide administrative and financial training and support to all levels of employees. Prepare and/or analyze budget and forecast models that simulate business activities for the purpose of budgeting or forecasting. Provide information and assistance to employees from auditing firms, management, and others regarding models, accounting processes, various financial reports, forecasts, budgets and/or financial plans. Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job. Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned. Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required. In addition to education, this role typically calls for two to four years of relevant professional experience; (Minimum of one-year relevant experience is required). Experience Demonstrated ability to perform accounting activities related to financial accounting, property accounting, account classification, or gas accounting (as specified by position). Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of compliance requirements along with a proven thorough working knowledge of all administrative requirements related to environmental, safety and operations compliance audits (as specified by position). Working knowledge of interpreting and applying generally accepted accounting methods and procedures. Experience with application of math, algebra, and statistical methods. Experience in use and function of office equipment including computers and applicable software. Demonstrated ability and/or training related to: Economic forecasting/modeling and company budget functions Energy industry accounting functions Communication/interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to research, compose, reconcile, and prepare reports, invoices, studies, and correspondence applicable to position. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret company correspondence, reports, accounting and tax-related publications, income statements, contracts, ledgers, manuals, and legal documents. Experience interacting and communicating effectively. Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English. Demonstrated ability to develop and present information to individuals and groups. Licenses and Certifications Required applicable driver’s license. Additional Requirements Mobility to travel in and around office surrounding and job sites outdoors.
