This is a part-time position designed for an accounting or finance professional who is comfortable working both independently and alongside company leadership. The Business Accountant will play an important role in overseeing cash flow, reviewing the work performed by our remote bookkeeping and financial support teams, improving financial processes, and helping leadership turn financial and operational data into actionable business insights. The position is expected to begin at approximately 20 hours per week , although hours may evolve based on the needs of the business. Scheduling is flexible and can be coordinated with the successful candidate, provided that the majority of work occurs during normal business hours of Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM . Primary Responsibilities Cash Flow & Financial Oversight Monitor and assist with management of company cash flow. Maintain and improve processes and controls surrounding cash receipts, disbursements, deposits, and financial transactions. Assist leadership with short- and medium-term cash flow forecasting. Identify potential cash flow concerns, discrepancies, or financial risks and communicate them proactively to leadership. Review financial activity for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate supporting documentation. Accounting & Financial Controls Maintain strong oversight of financial records within QuickBooks Online . Review account reconciliations, financial transactions, journal entries, and other accounting activity as needed. Help develop and maintain appropriate internal financial controls. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and financial efficiency. Assist with month-end and year-end financial review processes. Help ensure financial information is organized and readily available for leadership, tax professionals, lenders, and other authorized parties. Bookkeeper & Remote Finance Team Oversight Provide support and oversight for work performed by the company's remote Bookkeeper, Virtual Assistants, and other financial support resources . Review work completed by remote team members for accuracy and completeness. Establish clear financial procedures, documentation standards, and accountability. Help identify tasks that can be streamlined, automated, delegated, or improved. Serve as an internal financial point of contact when questions or discrepancies arise. Financial Analysis & Executive Support Support the CEO with financial and operational data analysis. Develop and maintain spreadsheets, reports, dashboards, forecasts, and other management reporting tools. Analyze trends in revenue, expenses, margins, cash flow, and other key business metrics. Translate financial data into clear, practical information that can be used for business decision-making. Assist with special financial analysis projects and strategic initiatives as requested. Lender & Investor Support Assist the CEO with preparation of financial information for lenders, investors, and other financial stakeholders. Help prepare financial reports, supporting documentation, forecasts, and analytical materials. Assist with responses to lender or investor financial information requests. Help ensure financial reporting presented to outside stakeholders is accurate, organized, timely, and professional. Qualifications Required Qualifications Strong working experience with QuickBooks Online — REQUIRED Advanced or highly proficient skills with Microsoft Excel — REQUIRED Previous professional experience in accounting, business finance, bookkeeping oversight, financial analysis, or a related field. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls. Ability to review financial information and identify inconsistencies or areas requiring additional investigation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle confidential financial and business information with professionalism and discretion. Preferred Qualifications Experience with the following is preferred but not required : Microsoft Power BI Claude or other AI-assisted business and analytical tools Cash flow forecasting Management reporting and KPI development Financial dashboard creation Multi-department or operational accounting Lender or investor reporting Oversight of remote bookkeeping or finance teams Process automation and financial workflow improvement What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is more than a transactional bookkeeper. We are looking for someone who can understand the financial picture of the business, recognize when something does not look right, ask the right questions, and help leadership make better decisions using accurate financial information. The successful candidate will be comfortable moving between detailed accounting work and higher-level business analysis. They should be able to work collaboratively with our CEO, bookkeeping resources, virtual assistants, and other members of the Bolder Adventure Park leadership team. Experience working in a growing small-to-medium-sized business environment is especially valuable. Schedule This position is expected to begin at approximately 20 hours per week . Compensation Expected Pay Range: $20–$35 per hour Compensation is heavily dependent upon the candidate's experience, accounting knowledge, technical skills, and ability to take ownership of the responsibilities of the position. Candidates with significant experience in QuickBooks Online, advanced Excel reporting, financial analysis, cash flow management, Power BI, financial controls, and executive-level financial support may be considered toward the higher end of the range.
