About the company
Our client, FutureAbility, is an Australian Microsoft Power Platform consultancy building AI
and automation solutions for private and government clients - across Power Apps, Power
Pages, Power Automate, Power BI and Copilot Studio, with AI agents increasingly at the
centre of everything they deliver.
FutureAbility works differently to most consultancies. Their focus is governance, enablement
and organisational change - helping clients choose the right things to build, not only just
building them. Through their Accelerator program, they take client AI and automation use
cases from intake through to proof of concept, and they run workshops, strategic hackathons
and AI governance forums directly with client leadership teams.
Their work spans AI agents built with Copilot Studio, client and supplier portals, apps for
data-driven workflows such as client onboarding, and approval workflows for government
and legal clients - all with one thing in common: Power Platform and AI for business
transformation.
This is a small, senior team growing deliberately, and this role is their first dedicated
Business Analyst. That means real ownership from day one - shaping the templates,
standards and practices the BA function runs on, working across multiple clients at once,
and sitting close to the front line of how AI is changing the way organisations operate. It will
suit a self-starting analyst who wants to build something, not slot into something.
About the job
Reporting to the Delivery Lead, the primary purpose of the role is to own the requirements-
to-delivery bridge across FutureAbility's client engagements, translating client conversations,
workshops and business problems into structured artefacts that development and solution
architecture teams can build from, and that clients can sign off on with confidence.
The role carries real scope and autonomy. You'll work across multiple concurrent
engagements - including our Accelerator program, a structured pipeline that takes client AI
and automation use cases from intake through to proof of concept - with direct exposure to
client stakeholders at every level.
You'll also help establish and refine the templates, standards and practices the BA function
runs on, so the way we do discovery, requirements and backlog management keeps
improving as the business grows.
This is a Philippines based remote role that requires overlap required with Sydney business
hours (AEST / AEDT) for client-facing sessions, workshops and governance forums. It is
managed under FutureAbility’s EOR arrangement.
About You
To succeed in this Business Analyst role, we you must demonstrate the following
experience, attributes and skills:
At least 3+ years' business analysis experience, ideally in a consulting or multi-client
environment. Experience with major consulting firms such as Accenture, KPMG, or
Deloitte would be ideal
Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform or a comparable low-code / enterprise platform
ecosystem
Working knowledge of Agile / Scrum delivery practices
Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills
Comfortable working across multiple concurrent client engagements
Strong written and verbal English - this is a client-facing role involving direct workshops,
governance forums and executive-level communication with Australian stakeholders
Professional Competencies:
Certification in CBAP, PMI-PBA, an Agile BA credential or equivalent
Exposure to AI and automation projects
Experience supporting client success or proposal development
Experience building reporting or dashboards (e.g. Power BI) - useful for BA practice
analytics as well as client-facing work
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirements and discovery
• Plan and run discovery workshops and requirements sessions with client stakeholders
• Identify functional and non-functional requirements, constraints and dependencies
• Analyse business processes and data to identify problems and opportunities
2. Documentation and backlog management
• Author Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), process maps, and current-state /
future-state documentation
• Break down solutions into epics, user stories and structured backlogs (Jira); maintain
traceability between requirements, backlog items and delivery phases
• Produce wireframe specifications and design prompts (e.g. Figma Make) in collaboration
with Solution Architects; translate requirements into functional specifications developers
can build against
• Work with technical teams to support solution design and implementation
• Own and maintain backlogs across active engagements, support delivery planning, and
flag scope creep or ambiguity early with the Delivery Lead
• Support the QA Tester with user guide documentation
3. Testing and quality
• Support the QA Tester in defining test strategy and scenarios, and in performing
functional and post-release testing
• Define acceptance criteria against requirements, and lead or support UAT to validate
solutions meet them
4. Stakeholder engagement and commercial support
• Consult, collaborate and coordinate with business SMEs, stakeholders and vendors;
present findings and recommendations
• Support recurring governance forums (e.g. client AI Councils, steering committees)
• Contribute effort estimates and estimation workbooks alongside the delivery team
• Support statement of work (SoW) and tender response development with structured
requirements input
5. Accelerator
• Support intake and triage frameworks for AI and automation use cases (e.g. scoring
models, triage guides), and assist in structuring use case backlogs for prioritisation
• Draft PoC overview documents for the Accelerator - scope, measures of success,
hypothesis testing - for review and sign-off, with increasing ownership as you establish
yourself
6. BA practice development
• Establish and refine reusable templates, playbooks and standard methodology so BA
work is consistent across engagements, and propose improvements to how discovery,
requirements and backlog management are run
• Develop reporting and analytics on the BA function itself - e.g. requirements cycle time,
backlog health, scope change rates, requirements-to-delivery velocity - to give visibility
into performance across engagements
Tools and systems
Platform: Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Pages, Copilot Studio, Power
Automate, Dataverse)
Design: Figma / Figma Make
Delivery Tracking: Jira / Confluence
What success looks like in the first six months
• Independently owns BA deliverables (BRDs, backlogs, briefs) across 2–3 concurrent
engagements
• BA workstreams run day-to-day without escalation or rework
• Client stakeholders report clarity and confidence in requirements artefacts
• Backlogs are consistently maintained and traceable to signed-off requirements
• At least one reusable BA template or process improvement introduced and adopted
