Role Description The Business Development Manager Life Science is a full-time, hybrid role based in Kruibeke, with the flexibility to work from home part of the time. In this position, the professional identifies and develops new business opportunities in the life science domain, building relationships with key stakeholders in pharma, biotech, medtech, and related industries. Day-to-day tasks include prospecting and qualifying leads, preparing and delivering client presentations, and translating customer needs into tailored innovation and product development proposals. The role involves close collaboration with internal multidisciplinary teams to shape solutions, prepare bids, and support project scoping. The Business Development Manager also monitors market trends, contributes to strategic account planning, and represents Verhaert at industry events and conferences to strengthen the company’s presence in the life science market.

Qualifications

• Strong business development and account management skills, including lead generation, pipeline management, and negotiation capabilities.
• Experience in the life science sector (e.g., pharma, biotech, medtech) and the ability to understand complex scientific and technological concepts is a must.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at multiple organizational levels.
• Strategic thinking and analytical skills to assess market opportunities, define value propositions, and support proposal creation.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary innovation, R&D, and product development teams.
• Self-driven, organized, and comfortable working in a hybrid setting, balancing on-site presence in Kruibeke with remote work.
• Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Professional proficiency in English; additional European languages are an asset.
• Previous experience in consulting, innovation services, or solution sales is highly beneficial.
