Description The Business Development Officer (BDO) serves as the Credit Union’s primary market representative within assigned communities and business segments. The role drives growth through strategic relationship development, community engagement, and targeted business development efforts that expand market presence, support membership growth, and strengthen partner relationships. The BDO develops and executes market-specific business development strategies, outreach plans, and networking activities aligned with Credit Union objectives, while advancing financial wellness, member engagement, and community visibility. Starting Salary: $65,000 Location: Savannah/Pooler Essential Duties/Responsibilities Develops and executes market-specific business development strategies aligned with Credit Union goals, growth priorities, and member acquisition objectives. Analyzes market trends, partner opportunities, and business development results to identify opportunities for membership growth, product penetration, and expanded market presence. Builds and maintains strategic relationships with community organizations, business partners, and key market contacts to support new member growth and long-term partnership value. Represents the Credit Union at community events, partner meetings, financial education sessions, and networking opportunities to strengthen visibility and deepen market engagement. Applies sound business judgment in prioritizing outreach efforts, partner relationships, and market opportunities to maximize impact and return on effort. Monitors business development activity, sales performance, and market results, and provides recommendations to leadership to improve effectiveness and support strategic objectives. Coordinates and executes business development initiatives and events that promote Credit Union products, services, and financial wellness opportunities within assigned markets. Collaborates with branch leadership, Wealth Management, Marketing, and other internal partners to align outreach efforts with organizational goals and member needs. Identifies prospective partner groups and business opportunities within assigned markets and cultivates relationships that support sustainable growth. Maintains accurate business development records, pipeline activity, and CRM updates to support reporting, follow-up, and performance tracking. Experience Required Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience in credit union or retail banking business development. 3-5 years: Three to five years of experience in business development, relationship management, branch banking, retail banking, or credit union operations, with demonstrated success in a credit union or banking environment. Working knowledge of credit union or banking products, services, and member service principles, including consumer deposit and lending solutions, sales practices, and business development techniques. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, email, internet platforms, CRM systems, and other business development or banking-related software tools.
