The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced independent contractor to generate new business opportunities, build customer relationships and help expand TechFort’s presence across New Zealand.

You will engage with prospective customers, understand their business and technology needs, and work with our technical team to present relevant solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and qualify new B2B sales opportunities
• Build a pipeline through prospecting, networking, referrals and partnerships
• Engage with business owners and key decision-makers
• Communicate the business value of TechFort’s solutions
• Manage opportunities from initial contact through to proposal, negotiation and handover
• Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts
• Collaborate with TechFort’s technical and delivery teams
• Deliver agreed pipeline and revenue outcomes
• Represent TechFort professionally at customer meetings and industry events

About You

• Proven B2B business development or sales experience
• A strong track record of generating leads and progressing opportunities
• Experience in technology, cybersecurity, IT services, SaaS or managed services is preferred
• Strong relationship-building and consultative selling skills
• Confident written, verbal and presentation skills
• Self-motivated, organised and comfortable managing your own schedule
• Familiarity with CRM and sales pipeline tools
• An established New Zealand business network would be advantageous

Engagement Details

This is a predominantly remote and flexible engagement. The contractor will generally determine when and where services are delivered, subject to agreed outcomes, deadlines and customer commitments.

Attendance at TechFort’s Auckland office, customer meetings and other agreed in-person sessions will be required when reasonably necessary. Where practical, these requirements will be arranged in advance.

Applicants must:

• Have the legal right to work and provide contracting services in New Zealand
• Be able to operate as an independent contractor and invoice TechFort for services
• Have reliable internet access and a suitable remote working environment

Future Opportunities

Subject to satisfactory delivery, available work and TechFort’s business requirements, the engagement may be extended by mutual agreement.

Strong performance may also lead to broader responsibilities, longer-term contracting work or consideration for future employment opportunities. Any future arrangement will be confirmed separately in writing. No extension, ongoing work or employment is guaranteed.
