Business Operations Lead (Contract - fully-remote) We're hiring a Business Ops and Finance Lead to make Cielo Costa a well-oiled machine - operationally! We're Cielo Costa – a 30-person technology consultancy working fully-remotely across the UK, Pakistan, India, Tunisia, and the Philippines. We're marathon runners, parents, triathletes, video gamers, musicians, photographers and travel enthusiasts! We care about our work and each other. Excellence in delivery is non-negotiable, but so is being human. We're now hiring a Business Operations & Finance Lead. Right now, finance and most general ops sit on our CEO's desk - and he'd rather it didn't. This role takes it off him completely. What you'll own Making Cielo Costa a well-oiled machine. This includes... Overall business and project health indicators - what we track, why and what it means for our costs, growth and investments. Project Finance: Turn client and project data into the clearest picture we have of where to focus our time and effort - backed by the numbers, not instinct - and support target setting and financial planning across all practice areas. Day-to-day finance: Own the relationship with our accountancy firm., cash management, payroll and any other finance matters. Legal: Contract reviews - clients, employees, contractors. Enough know-how to spot red flags, not necessarily to argue the finer points of case law. HR: Policies, insurances, and benefits administration. What you'll bring A general operations background with a strong leaning towards finance, ideally from a startup or professional services background. Familiarity with utilisation and time-and-materials models. Analysis that tells a story you can communicate to all audiences. Financially literate end to end - equally comfortable running payroll as building a profitability model. Genuine fluency with AI and automation tools , and you use them to work faster. Solid legal grounding - either through studies or exposure to commercial contracting. Warmth, curiosity, critical thinking! Sound like you? Let's talk.
