Job Description: The Business Insights Analyst – FinOps is responsible for delivering high‑quality financial and cost analytics across FinOps, with a focus on consolidating data from multiple financial and technology sources into consistent, trusted views. The role provides analytical ownership across the FinOps domain. An individual that can operate independently, apply elevated analytical and data quality standards, and consolidate multiple financial and technical data assets into coherent, trusted views for decision‑making. The role would combine user engagement with junior analytical support: onboarding, education materials, FAQs, user follow-up, feedback intake, reporting support, data quality checks, dashboard upkeep, exception review, and basic analysis, maintains financial and unit cost models, and partners with Finance, Technology, and Business teams to deliver clear, decision‑ready insights. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop, maintain, and improve recurring financial reports, dashboards, and analysis used for FinOps planning, cost management, and leadership reporting. Support monthly forecasting, actuals review, variance analysis, and commentary across technology and platform cost drivers. Analyze usage, spend, allocation, and unit-cost data to identify trends, anomalies, risks, and cost optimization opportunities. Maintain and improve financial models, reporting logic, and source-data checks to improve accuracy, consistency, and repeatability. Partner with Finance, Technology, platform teams, and business stakeholders to validate assumptions, reconcile differences, and align on definitions. Prepare clear, decision-ready summaries for managers and senior stakeholders, including concise explanations of key drivers and recommendations. Support ad-hoc financial analysis, scenario analysis, and recurring portfolio reviews. Contribute to continuous improvement of FinOps reporting processes, documentation, and analytical standards. EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field. 2-5 years of experience in financial analysis, analytics, reporting, or a related role, preferably in technology, cloud, or data-platform environments. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with multi-source financial and operational data. Experience with Excel and financial reporting or visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Working knowledge of financial modelling, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting. Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong ownership, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience in FinOps, cloud cost management, technology financial management, or data-platform cost reporting. SQL experience or familiarity with relational data concepts. Familiarity with cloud platforms and services such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud. Experience improving reporting processes, reconciliations, controls, or data quality checks. Exposure to unit economics, consumption-based technology costs, or allocation models.
