About the team you are joining The Ground Operations team supports the global development and adoption of baggage standards, digital solutions, and performance initiatives that improve passenger journey and operational efficiency. We work with airlines, airports, ground handlers, and system providers to enhance baggage processes, messaging, tracking, and data-driven performance improvement across the industry. Our work spans baggage operations, digital baggage services, messaging systems, and industry performance analysis. You will join a dynamic and collaborative group focused on improving operational outcomes, customer experience, and the use of data to drive smarter baggage operations. What your day would be like Reporting to the Senior Manager Global Baggage Operations, you will: •Manage and deliver business intelligence solutions for Baggage Operations, providing actionable insights and analytical support to business users and stakeholders. •Collaborate with product owners and business users to define requirements and develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations that support operational and strategic decision-making. •Support management in delivering complex analytical use cases by translating data insights into clear business narratives and compelling visualizations. •Lead discovery sessions with stakeholders to identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, service performance, and commercial outcomes. •Perform in-depth analysis, including performance monitoring, causal analysis, and hypothesis-driven investigations to generate actionable recommendations. •Act as the baggage operations data steward: monitor data quality and data warehouse performance, identify and resolve root causes of data issues, lead data integration, and define data quality rules and controls. •Identify, source, and integrate multiple data streams to enhance business intelligence capabilities and provide a comprehensive operational view. •Define and document data models, data flows, source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, and validation criteria to ensure consistency and reliability of insights. •Define analytical dashboard requirements, perform validation/testing, and monitor dashboard reliability relative to underlying data sources. •Build and maintain dashboards and self-service analytics tools to enable business users to access insights efficiently. •Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to validate data, ensure alignment with business needs, and support delivery of data-driven solutions. •Define and drive platform and data solution enhancements, including requirement gathering, acceptance criteria definition, testing, and deployment support in collaboration with IT teams and vendors. •Leverage statistical methods and analytics techniques to generate insights and support decision-making. •Explore and apply advanced analytics and machine learning techniques where relevant to improve baggage operations and predictive capabilities. •Develop user guides, training materials, and provide ongoing support to ensure effective adoption of business intelligence tools and insights. •Provide user support and resolve data, reporting, and platform-related queries in a timely and efficient manner. We would love to hear from you if you have You are analytical and results-driven, with a strong understanding of business intelligence, data analytics, and aviation baggage operations. You have a proactive, “can-do” attitude and can effectively engage with multiple stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions that improve operational performance and decision-making. Additionally, you have: •B.Sc. in Data/Business Analytics, Information Systems, Aviation Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). •Experience in BI, reporting, data analytics, and dashboard development, preferably within aviation, airport operations, baggage operations, or other operational environments. •Proficiency PowerBI / Tableau, Excel and SQL, in particular for data extraction, transformation, validation, troubleshooting, and performance analysis. •Experience defining business requirements, developing analytical dashboards, conducting user acceptance testing (UAT), and supporting solution deployment. •Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques, KPI development, root cause analysis, trend analysis, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making methodologies. •Knowledge of airline, airport, and baggage operations, including Baggage Handling Systems (BHS), Baggage Reconciliation Systems (BRS), IATA Resolution 753, baggage tracking and baggage messaging standards is highly desirable.
