Business Relationship Director Overview of Position The Business Relationship Director serves as a strategic operational leader within LPI Operations, supporting an assigned portfolio of clients while also providing leadership and oversight for designated operational, process, product, or functional areas. Acting as the connective link between clients and internal partners across Operations, Product Management, Account Management, Analytics, Reporting, and Technology teams, this role drives alignment, identifies risks and opportunities, and helps shape solutions that improve operational performance, client experience, and business outcomes. This role requires a highly influential leader who can navigate ambiguity, build trusted partnerships, and drive complex cross-functional initiatives through collaboration and influence. The Business Relationship Director serves as the operational bridge between assigned clients and LPI Operations, translating business needs into operational priorities, facilitating execution, resolving complex challenges, and advancing strategic and operational objectives. What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job? Consultative Responsibilities Translate client needs, business objectives, operational trends, and functional priorities into clear recommendations and actionable operational strategies in partnership with Operations, Product Management, Account Management, Analytics, Reporting, and Technology teams. Develop executive-ready business cases, communications, dashboards, scorecards, and recommendations that provide visibility into performance, risks, opportunities, strategic initiatives, and areas of functional ownership. Build trusted cross-functional partnerships that simplify complexity, align stakeholders, and drive scalable solutions across client portfolios and operational areas of responsibility. Synthesize client feedback, operational performance data, industry trends, and stakeholder insights to proactively identify emerging risks, service challenges, and improvement opportunities before they impact client or business outcomes. Serve as a trusted advisor and advocate for assigned clients while providing leadership and strategic direction within designated operational, product, process, or functional areas. Influence priorities, shape solutions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that balance client needs, operational effectiveness, and business objectives. Leadership Responsibilities Lead through influence in a non-people-leader capacity, driving cross-functional governance, change management, and execution across assigned client portfolios and areas of functional responsibility. Lead complex client, operational, and strategic initiatives through collaboration, influence, and cross-functional alignment. Drive accountability and execution across Operations, Product Management, Technology, Account Management, and other key partners to ensure priorities, commitments, and deliverables remain on track. Communicate operational performance, business priorities, emerging risks, and strategic recommendations to audiences ranging from frontline teams to senior leaders and client stakeholders. Oversee financial considerations, contractual commitments, operational requirements, and business impacts associated with assigned client portfolios, initiatives, and functional areas of responsibility. Serve as the primary LPI Operations relationship lead for assigned client portfolios, representing operational priorities, performance, risks, and opportunities in client forums, business reviews, escalation discussions, and strategic planning conversations. Provide leadership and oversight for designated operational, process, product, or functional areas, identifying opportunities to improve performance, scalability, service quality, and client outcomes. Advocate for client needs within the organization while balancing operational capabilities, contractual obligations, business objectives, and enterprise priorities. Influence decision-making by translating client feedback, operational insights, business challenges, and functional expertise into actionable recommendations and improvement opportunities. Operational Oversight Analyze operational performance, client impacts, financial results, and business trends to identify risks, gaps, opportunities, and actionable improvement plans. Monitor the health and effectiveness of assigned operational, process, product, or functional areas, providing recommendations to improve performance, scalability, service quality, and client outcomes. Lead implementation readiness activities by defining operational requirements, coordinating dependencies, mitigating risks, and supporting the successful deployment of new services, capabilities, products, or process changes. Provide oversight and support for assigned operational channels, products, or business functions (e.g., Policy Intake, HOI Verify, EDI), identifying trends, resolving complex issues, and driving improvements that benefit both clients and the organization. Clarify ownership, establish action plans, and drive resolution for complex client needs, operational escalations, strategic initiatives, and ambiguous business challenges. Leverage operational insights, stakeholder feedback, and performance data to identify emerging trends, inform prioritization decisions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across LPI Operations. What are the requirements needed for this position? B.S./B.A. degree or equivalent experience 7+ years of experience leading complex initiatives in a matrixed environment, including stakeholder alignment, change management, cross-functional initiative ownership, execution, and executive-level communication. Experience in lending, lender-placed insurance, insurance tracking, mortgage servicing, Global Housing Operations, or a similar operational/client support environment. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and reporting or analytics tools. Demonstrated ability to build alignment across diverse stakeholders, facilitate complex discussions, and drive execution in ambiguous or evolving business environments. Demonstrated ability to remain effective under pressure, lead complex client and operational challenges through resolution, and drive clarity, accountability, and outcomes in high-visibility situations. Strong relationship management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and influence outcomes across all levels of an organization and with external clients. What other skills/experience would be helpful to have? MBA or other advanced degree. Experience leading enterprise-level transformation initiatives, operational capability improvements, or large-scale process changes that span multiple functions or client groups. Strong negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Proven ability to deliver measurable business results and drive continuous improvement. Experience supporting high-visibility client forums or initiatives, including QBRs/ABRs, Policy Intake, EDI, HOI Verify, automation, or AI-enabled solutions. Experience coaching, mentoring, or informally guiding peers and cross-functional partners through complex work in a matrixed environment. Excellent organization, prioritization, follow-up, and coordination skills across multiple initiatives. Experience using Microsoft Teams and collaborating across geographically dispersed teams.
