CAD Technician I

Join our team as a CAD Technician, where you’ll support the design and development of fiber network buildouts. In this role, you’ll create and update CAD drawings, develop route plans and planning profiles, ensure design data accuracy, and collaborate with project teams to meet quality and production goals. Candidates must be located in Texas What You’ll Do: Drafts F iber network designs and maintains accurate records of fiber routes, facilities, and field assets within project-specific design and mapping applications. Reads and understands project specifications, procedures, and requirements as necessary. Becomes proficient in the utilization of project-specific CAD, GIS, and fiber design software and associated applications as quickly as possible. Gains proficiency in project QA tools and resolution of QA errors as required. Incorporates quality feedback into daily production processes to ensure high-quality work output. Identifies problems with source material and communicates with appropriate project team members to assist in their resolution. Meets all project production targets and quality expectations within 90 days of hire and on an ongoing basis. Interfaces with team leads as required to ensure consistency in project specifications, standards, procedures, and design techniques. Develops ongoing proficiency with assigned hardware and software and participates in applicable training programs to build knowledge of project specifications and procedures. Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, Katapult, and Google Earth is preferred. Required Qualifications: H igh school degree or equivalent. Basic Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation software and applications is desirable. Basic Computer Assisted Drawing and Design skills with a knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and other trail point and layer-based drawing applications is desirable.
