The Opportunity Ulteig is seeking a CADD Specialist to support the adoption, administration, optimization, and continuous improvement of supported CADD platforms across the Power Lifeline Sector. This role may support software platforms including, but not limited to, MicroStation and AutoCAD and other related project delivery technologies as business needs evolve. The CADD Specialist will collaborate with Product Operations, Enterprise Technology, Quality, Engineering COE, software vendors, and project teams to support software configuration, standards implementation, user support, training, workflow improvement, and project delivery initiatives. This individual serves as a technical resource to project teams, helping promote consistency, efficiency, quality, and adherence to company and client design standards. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically proficient, customer-focused, and passionate about improving engineering project delivery through technology, standards, training, and user enablement. Software Support the administration, configuration, and day-to-day use of supported CADD platforms across the organization. Assist with the implementation and maintenance of software configurations, workspaces, worksets, profiles, templates, libraries, and project resources Support testing, validation, deployment, and user communication for software updates, enhancements, upgrades, and new releases. Troubleshoot software-related issues and provide technical support to project teams. Collaborate with Enterprise Technology and software vendors to resolve technical issues and improve software performance. Support the implementation, integration, and adoption of project delivery technologies associated with CADD workflows. Evaluate emerging technologies and software solutions that could improve project delivery effectiveness. Stay informed on supported software best practices, releases, vendor updates, and industry trends impacting project delivery. Standards Assist with developing, implementing, maintaining, and improving CADD standards, workflows, templates, and best practices. Support the creation and maintenance of templates, seed files, cell libraries, blocks, configuration resources, and design standards documentation. Assist project teams with implementing internal and client-specific design standards. Support quality initiatives that improve consistency and compliance with company and client requirements. Partner with Quality, Design Technology, engineering teams, and subject matter experts to improve standards adoption and project delivery processes. Identify opportunities to improve consistency, efficiency, documentation, and knowledge sharing across project teams. Assist with workflow enhancements and automation initiatives using supported software tools and related technologies. Training Support onboarding, training, and adoption initiatives for supported CADD software. Develop and maintain training materials, job aids, standards, and learning resources. Deliver foundational and intermediate training sessions for supported CADD software. Provide technical orientation to new employees on design technology tools and workflows. Coach and mentor users on CADD standards, workflows, and best practices. Provide guidance regarding project setup, standards implementation, and software usage. Encourage adoption through effective communication and knowledge sharing. Project Interface Support adoption of CADD efficiency tools through user engagement, training, and project implementation. Support project teams with CADD software setup and execution planning. Assist project teams with design production, drafting, detailing, and coordination. Support implementation of project-specific standards and client requirements. Assist in resolving design, drafting, and coordination challenges. Support collaboration with clients regarding project-specific design standards and software requirements. Help improve coordination and consistency across engineering disciplines. Assist in resolving escalated CADD software issues with senior team members, IT support, and software vendors. Product Operations Support the operational performance of CADD and design technology services across the organization. Assist with service delivery processes, support workflows, documentation, and operational procedures that provide a consistent user experience. Support the administration, adoption, troubleshooting, enhancement, testing, and deployment of CADD efficiency tools that improve delivery, consistency, and user productivity. Monitor user feedback, recurring issues, support trends, adoption needs, and workflow gaps to identify improvement opportunities. Help prioritize software support needs, standards updates, enhancement requests, training needs, and process improvements in partnership with business stakeholders. Support communication with users and stakeholders regarding software updates, support resources, planned changes, standards updates, and adoption opportunities. Serve as a technical resource for users and project teams needing support with software, standards, workflows, or project delivery tools. Coordinate with CADD team members and business stakeholders to balance workloads, share knowledge and promote effective collaboration across the team. What We Expect from You Associate degree and six (6) years of professional experience, Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of five (5) years of experience utilizing CADD software, specifically MicroStation or AutoCAD, on engineering, utility, power, or infrastructure projects. Minimum of two (2) years of experience supporting standards development, training, mentoring, software support, or related design technology leadership activities. Advanced proficiency in one or more CADD software platforms required, such as MicroStation or AutoCAD. Experience supporting Bentley, Autodesk software platforms or related applications. Experience developing and maintaining design standards, templates, and workflows preferred. Experience providing software support, troubleshooting, and user training. Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to coach users and provide technical guidance to project teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify practical solutions. Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple departments. Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Experience in power transmission, distribution, substation, or related infrastructure industries preferred. Passion for continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing. Ability to travel occasionally to support training, onboarding, and project initiatives. Demonstrates openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement.
