The Immigrant Legal Resource Center is Hiring! California C ommunication s Associate - San Francisco , C A The Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC) is seeking a full-time C alifornia C ommunications Associate in our San Francisco Office. This is an exempt position that reports to a senior member of the communications team . This is a bargaining unit position represented by the National Legal Services Workers (NOLSW), Local 2320. The ILRC currently has a hybrid wor k model requiring two in-office days per week. Who We Are: The ILRC is a leading immigrant rights organization headquartered in San Francisco with staff in Washington, D.C., Texas, Southern California, the Central Valley of California, and Washington state. Since 1979, our mission has been to educate, support, and empower immigrants, community organizations, and legal practitioners to build a more just, inclusive, and democratic society. The Opportunity: This is a new position within the ILRC’s robust Communications Team. This position would work with our Central Valley-based staff, as well as support our Know Your Rights and California Enforcement Teams’ work with media outreach, writing needs (including some social media), with the opportunity to do video work for social media and other projects. Job Responsibilities: Media outreach to uplift the work of the Central Valley, Know Your Rights and California Enforcement teams ; Writing support: news releases, talking points, video scripts, as well as doing some translation work (Spanish) when needed ; Video support: working with the members of the Communications digital strategy team to do social media videos ; Working within coalitions the ILRC is part of in the Central Valley and Enforcement work Attending internal meetings to support these teams ; Driving to various events to support the staff on these teams (in the San Francisco area as well as the Central Valley) ; and Acting as backup communications support for our legislative work in Sacramento . Qualifications : We seek candidates who have outstanding interpersonal skills, organizational skills, data analysis skills, project management skills, high attention to detail, ability to collaborate effectively, and commitment to advancing the power of immigrant communities. To be most successful in this role, you must: 5-7 years of relevant experience; A college or university degree or possess knowledge equivalent to a 4-year degree from a college or university; Be passionate about immigrant rights; Must be fluent in Spanish ; written Spanish language skills would be a plus; Have a strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 products including Excel, SharePoint, Word and PowerPoint; Have a working knowledge of social media platforms; Video skills would be a plus; Have excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong facilitation skills and presentation skills, report writing skills, and the ability to communicate complex data, findings, and ideas clearly; Have the ability to collaborate cross-departmentally ; appreciate working as part of a team; be able to problem solve; and enjoy the initial building phase of a new project ; Keen attention to detail; Recognizes ways that race and ethnicity, gender, and other identities intersect in the communities that we serve; Growth mindset and commitment to gathering feedback to inform improvements; Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple streams of work at once; Be able to travel up to 20 percentage of time within the state of California, and occasionally out of state ; and Support the organization in other duties as assigned. Compensation/Benefits: Pay is commensurate with experience, with an expected range between $ 85,000 to $95,000 annually . The ILRC offers excellent benefits, medical/dental/vision insurance, EAP sessions, a flexible spending account for medical and dependent care, vacation, and sick leave. The ILRC also sponsors a retirement plan option upon fulfillment of eligibility. Additionally, we offer an annual professional development stipend of $2,500 and from 202 5 – 2027, an annual wellness stipend of $2,500. ILRC also offers a sabbatical program: employees are eligible to apply for an 8-week sabbatical after five years of service and a 12-week sabbatical after ten years of service.
