Candidate Sourcer, US Tech and AI Roles | Remote (Philippines) | Commission Only | Part Time or Full Time

Big Wave Digital is a specialist technology and AI recruitment firm, founded in Sydney in 2010. Our US desk places Forward Deployed Engineers and Strategists, founding engineers, AI agent and ML infrastructure specialists, and growth leaders into venture-backed startups. Live roles right now sit between $150,000 and $400,000 in total comp, with equity on most of them.

We have more approved, live US roles than we have hours in the day to fill. That is the entire reason this role exists.

Why we're opening this to the Philippines

Our team is in Australia. Your candidates are in the US. We need someone experienced enough to run a real sourcing desk without hand-holding, working hours that overlap with the US market, which from the Philippines means an evening or night shift. This is common for experienced recruiters and sourcers already working US-facing desks, and it's a hard requirement here: you must be able to work US business hours from the Philippines.

This is not an entry-level or training role. We're looking for someone who has already sourced for US or Western clients and knows the tools, the market, and how to hold a real conversation with a candidate on the phone.

What you'll do

Write and post job ads for our live US roles on the boards and channels that actually convert

Source through LinkedIn Recruiter, referrals, communities, and our inbound applicant flow

Pick up the phone. Call candidates across US time zones and qualify them properly

Screen against the client scorecard: relevant experience, comp expectations, location and onsite requirements, work authorization, notice period, and real motivation

Hand over a clean, evidenced shortlist with your notes, ready for us to submit

What you'll never do

No business development. No cold calls to clients, no pitching, no "quick intro" meetings, no sales targets. We hold every client relationship directly and we intend to keep it that way. You will never be asked to sell to a company. Not in month one, not ever.

What you need

At least 5 years in technical recruitment, sourcing or headhunting for technology, engineering, or AI roles in the US or other Western markets. This is not negotiable

Access to a LinkedIn Recruiter seat, whether your own or through your current agency

Exceptional spoken and written English, with the phone presence to call a senior engineer or an ex-MBB consultant and hold a real conversation about their career

Based in the Philippines, able to work US business hours (evening or night shift PHT)

Self-directed. We're a small team on the other side of the world and we don't hover

Comfortable working commission-only, without a base salary or fixed hours

The deal

Commission only. Part time or full time, your call. Rates are generous relative to the local market and we'll talk about them openly on our first conversation. This suits an experienced technical sourcer who wants to earn well on results without a desk, a manager, or a sales quota. It won't suit anyone who needs a base salary while they learn the market. We need real technical recruitment experience and exceptional English from day one.
