Is this job info correct?

What does world-class career coaching look like? If you're a career development professional with a clear eye for what quality career coaching means and are interested in being part of a high-growth AI nonprofit, we're looking for you! CareerVillage.org, an award-winning global tech nonprofit, is defining what high-quality AI career coaching looks like for ourselves and the field. We’re seeking a mission-driven, full-time Career & Curriculum Associate with deep expertise in career development to support this work. If you have a background as a career coach, advisor, or instructional designer, and are excited to translate your knowledge into AI-driven tech, we’d love to hear from you! About CareerVillage.org CareerVillage.org is dedicated to democratizing access to career information and advice for underrepresented people. As our Career & Curriculum Associate, you’ll be a leader in taking the content and effectiveness of our AI Career Coach, Coach, to the next level. What you’ll do This is an individual contributor role that reports directly to our Coaching & Learning Expert. Please note: This role sits at the intersection of two ever-evolving fields: career development and AI. The responsibilities of this role will change as CareerVillage adapts to field learnings. Candidates who are adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, and embrace a growth-mindset for learning new technology will be a great fit. Create and improve content: Lead the creation of new career development content and continuously update 50+ existing career topics to keep pace with learner needs, partner requests, and organizational strategy. This involves developing and maintaining prompts grounded in instructional design principles, that tell Coach how to interact with users step by step (no technical expertise required, you will learn on the job, though comfort with new tools is a must!) Manage the content feedback loop : Collect, prioritize, and incorporate feedback from various stakeholders, and handle ad-hoc content requests from across teams as they arise. Translate coaching best practices into quality control systems : Support the development of evaluative criteria that measures whether Coach is delivering high quality, personalized coaching. Contribute to benchmark creation: Support our field-building efforts to identify and prove what quality career coaching looks like in an AI context. Collaborate across teams: Partner with Product, Engineering, Partner Success, and other teams to bring content to life, ensuring they align with the platform’s mission and goals. Champion career development excellence: Bring expert knowledge of career advising to guide content strategy, ensuring that all activities are transformative and accessible for learners from diverse backgrounds. What you bring 3+ years experience as a career advisor, coach, or in a related field coaching people through career exploration, career planning, and job searching, ideally with a diverse group of beneficiaries. Instructional designer experience or Career Coaching Certification (i.e., CPCC, BCC, GCDF, NCDA certifications, etc.) Experience translating coaching or advising expertise into written, structured learning content with defined objectives and success criteria. Experience working in a very high-growth, fast-paced, rapidly-changing work environment (i.e., a company or nonprofit that doubled its size multiple years in a row, and you loved it) Familiarity with established career development theories, pedagogical frameworks (i.e. Bloom’s Taxonomy), skills assessment, and competency-building techniques. Ability to articulate curriculum concepts clearly and collaborate effectively across teams. Ability to manage and refine multiple curriculum projects simultaneously, with a focus on quality and learner outcomes. Preferred requirements: Experience helping job seekers finding employment outside the United States And/or experience helping job seekers find employment in trade industries. About you We know that applying for a job can be intimidating. Applicants rarely meet every single job requirement, and we know there are many skills and backgrounds that will contribute to success in this role. The ideal candidate will have many of the following: You are comfortable transitioning to a role where you are no longer coaching humans (you’ll be coaching AI, which involves lots of time independently evaluating or updating prompts). You are comfortable operating within an established framework. CareerVillage has already defined core frameworks and design principles for Coach - you'll bring deep career-coaching expertise to execute, stress-test, and extend that vision (not build it from scratch). Confidence and interest in diving into new technology and a willingness to learn. You are mission-driven and committed to developing transformational social impact technology. Experience working with learners from underserved communities or interest in education and social impact. Ability to manage a collaborative peer review process with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring content meets the highest standards. A flexible, iterative approach to developing curriculum. This means comfort working with the constraints of existing strategy and the patience to test and refine content based on feedback. Comfort working across teams and bringing structure and clarity to complex content projects. What we offer An opportunity to improve real lives, solve hard problems, and make an impact on the world A chance to see the impact of your work on millions of people A chance to work with like-minded people who are working together on something ambitious and purposeful A fantastic and supportive organizational culture Starting salary of $85,000-$100,000 401K matching $1,500 Professional Development budget Very generous vacation policy Location We are a remote-first organization and can hire for this role within the United States. Candidates must be physically located in the U.S. and eligible to work here. We expect employees to work within normal business hours in the Pacific, Mountain, Central, or Eastern time zones. Hybrid work is optional in NYC. CareerVillage.org has team members worldwide, with our HQ in Palo Alto, CA. Hiring process Please expect a minimum of 3 rounds in the interview process (initial phone screening, possible skills assessment, and typically two interview rounds). CareerVillage is an equal opportunity organization that celebrates diversity (for more information about our approach, check out our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Guidelines ). Diversity includes race, gender identity, age, national origin, disability status, size, religion, sexual orientation, parental status, socioeconomic background, and many other parts of an individual’s identity. We are a fair choice employer: qualified applicants with a history of arrest or conviction are welcome to apply and will be considered for this role. Each team member’s perspective is integral to our success, and fostering an inclusive environment is everyone’s responsibility. At this time, we can only consider applicants with authorization to work in the United States on a permanent, full-time basis; unfortunately, we cannot provide visa sponsorship.
