The Role

We are seeking a Maritime Operations Manager to coordinate maritime operations, logistics activities, service providers, operational schedules, and performance across relevant business functions.

This is a great opportunity for a maritime, shipping, logistics, port operations, or transportation professional looking to take on a broader role in an international and remote working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day maritime and shipping operations.
• Monitor vessel schedules, port activities, cargo movements, and operational timelines.
• Coordinate with shipping agents, port authorities, terminal operators, logistics providers, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support vessel scheduling, voyage planning, cargo coordination, and documentation activities.
• Maintain accurate operational records, reports, schedules, and shipping documentation.
• Monitor delays, disruptions, operational risks, and service issues.
• Coordinate timely solutions with internal teams and external service providers.
• Support compliance with applicable maritime, port, safety, security, and operational requirements.
• Work closely with Procurement, Finance, Commercial, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams.
• Monitor service-provider performance, costs, delivery schedules, and contractual requirements.
• Support supplier and vendor relationships related to maritime operations.
• Assist with contingency planning and operational risk management.
• Prepare operational reports, performance updates, and management recommendations.
• Support process improvement initiatives and implementation of new operational procedures.
• Assist management with maritime projects and other operational initiatives when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in maritime operations, shipping, logistics, port operations, vessel operations, or a related function.
• Good understanding of maritime and shipping operational processes.
• Strong organizational, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and operational deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
• Comfortable working with spreadsheets, operational systems, and common business software.
• Ability to work effectively with international teams and external stakeholders.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
• UAE or GCC maritime experience is an advantage.
• Relevant maritime, shipping, or logistics certifications are welcome but not mandatory.
