Rockstar is recruiting for an edtech/govtech startup that is building the first common application system for PK-12, focused on increasing access to high quality education . This Nobel Prize-winning, venture-backed, seed-stage company works with cities, school districts, and nonprofits to set up one-stop-shop enrollment hubs for families to find, navigate, and register for educational and social programs. The team includes 25 humans , founded by a Nobel Laureate, a Clark Medalist, and a Social Entrepreneur . Work with the Go to Market team to grow the business in the charter sector . The role will be responsible for generating demand and building pipeline , including through direct outreach, field events, and marketing support, as well owning deals and working them through close . Although similar to a sales / Account Executive role , since this is a startup, the company needs someone who will be extraordinarily proactive and do whatever it takes to grow the business . For this role, the company isn't looking for traditional sales people - they want practitioners who have lived the experiences of their clients and empathize with their work and challenges. The best candidates would be former CMO leaders or administrators in student services, operations, accountability, or enrollment. Sales, partnerships, development/fundraising, or other business experience is helpful, but the company is open to eager candidates with a competitive drive who want to learn the ropes . Candidates must live within 1 hour of hubs in San Francisco or Boston . (If you have experience at the district or municipal level, separate roles are available for those sectors. Responsibilities The candidate will be a full stack sales executive , responsible for all stages of the sales process: Understanding the company Understanding the company's go to market strategy and ideal customer profile (ICP) Learning the product inside and out Mastering pricing and packaging Building pipeline Build target lists matching ICP using tools like LinkedIn, RocketReach, Clay, and district websites Send outbound emails Cold calls Supporting marketing with outbound campaigns Working charter conferences Mining referral networks Working the deal Scheduling meetings Attending all meetings Demo the product (and leveraging specialists for high priority demos) Leveraging professional and technical services specialists Building relationships with stakeholders and influencers Understanding decision-making process and politics Following up, checking in Submitting proposals and quotes Closing the deal Pricing and negotiation Contracting Navigating procurement Entering the information correctly into Hubspot Confirming contract information is correctly synced with TABS Monitoring TABS to ensure invoices are paid Handing off the customer Coordinating internally to identify the CSM Introducing the client to the CSM and implementation team Joining the first kick-off call to ensure smooth handoff to implementation team Compensation OTE: $150,000 - $200,000+ Base Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 Bonus: $70,000 - $120,000+ Equity: ~5,000 Shares Qualifications Based in San Francisco Bay Area or Greater Boston 4+ years of full time professional experience 2+ years in charter administration role , preferably at a large CMO/network in operational roles including CEO/Executive Director, Enrollment, Student Services, Accountability, or Operations Passion for education, equity, or social impact Entrepreneurial spirit and drive , extraordinary comfort with ambiguity Excellent communicator , including written and oral Among the best at what you do with a growth mindset and desire to constantly improve Legal ability to work in the US without Visa sponsorship About the Company Company The company is a Nobel Prize-winning, venture backed, seed-stage edtech/govtech startup focused on increasing access to high quality education with the first common application system for PK-12 .
