Ireland is Legend’s European headquarters. Our Irish business has been granted a MiCA CASP authorisation by the Central Bank of Ireland, a key milestone in our expansion across the European Economic Area. It is now building Legend Pay, a payments platform for banks, EMIs, payment institutions, and platform partners, offering multi-currency accounts, SEPA and SWIFT payments, card issuance, and conversion between stablecoins and fiat, subject to completion of EMI authorisation. Regulatory context

Legend Trading Europe currently holds CASP authorisation and is pursuing EMI authorisation, becoming dual authorised once that process completes. This role is dual PCF, PCF-8 (CEO) and PCF-1 (Executive Director). The successful candidate must be suitable to hold both functions from a CBI fitness and probity perspective. Prior experience specifically in a PCF-8 role is not a requirement, suitability to hold it is.

The role

Leading the growth of the European entity. Remote first, based mainly in Ireland, with the wider team distributed across Europe.

You will run the European business end to end. The mandate is simple to state and demanding to deliver: build a commercially successful and profitable operation, and make sure everything we do is delivered within our regulatory obligations. In practice that means owning the P&L, driving revenue growth, leading and building the team, completing the EMI authorisation, and being the person the Board and the regulator hold accountable for how the business is run.

Core responsibilities

• Own the P&L for the European business, with clear accountability for revenue growth and a credible path to sustainable profitability
• Discharge PCF-8 and PCF-1 duties in full, including engagement with the CBI
• Own the regulatory and governance framework for the European entity
• Own the safeguarding of client funds and client crypto-assets, an area where the Central Bank of Ireland expects the highest standards and where the CEO carries ultimate accountability
• Take the EMI authorisation through to approval and bring the payments proposition to market
• Support and be actively involved in the commercial growth of the European business, working alongside the wider team
• Lead and grow the European team as the business scales
• Represent the company credibly with regulators, banking partners, and commercial counterparties
• Build relationships across the payments and acquiring ecosystem to support new business, particularly acquirers looking to offer on and off ramping into digital assets

Candidate profile

Required

• Demonstrated experience leading and growing a team in a growing business
• Experience operating in a regulated environment
• rack record of delivering commercial results, with direct ownership of revenue or P&L
• Demonstrable interest in fintech, payments, or digital assets
• Suitable, from a CBI fitness and probity standpoint, to hold PCF-8 and PCF-1

Desirable

• Background in payments acquiring, ideally with direct exposure to how acquirers think about product, risk, and partnerships
• Well networked within the payments ecosystem, able to open doors and be credible in front of acquirers and payment businesses
• Commercially aware and comfortable being client facing
• Prior CEO or PCF-8 experience
• Comfortable operating in a small, remote-first structure
