Role Description The Chief Legal Officer is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading all legal and compliance functions for the firm. This role oversees legal strategy, provides guidance on complex legal issues, and ensures adherence to laws and regulations relevant to tax advisory and wealth management services. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and agreements; advising leadership on corporate governance; and managing policies that support ethical and compliant business practices. The Chief Legal Officer will also address labor and employment law matters, collaborate with external counsel when needed, and develop frameworks to mitigate legal risks. This position works closely with executive leadership to align legal considerations with business objectives and protect the firm’s reputation and interests.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Law, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant statutes and regulations.
• Experience handling Legal Issues and providing clear, practical Legal Advice to senior leadership.
• Proven background in Corporate Governance, including policy development and board-level reporting.
• Knowledge of Labor and Employment Law, including workforce policies, compliance, and dispute resolution.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
• Several years of progressive legal leadership experience, preferably within financial services, tax advisory, or a related regulated industry.
• Demonstrated ability to work remotely, manage confidential information, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills, with a focus on practical, business-oriented solutions.
