Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Chinese to English Interpreter. The interpreter will provide real-time, accurate interpretation during virtual calls, meetings, and conferences for clients across sectors such as medical, legal, and customer support. Day-to-day tasks include listening carefully to spoken Chinese, conveying the message clearly and faithfully in English, and maintaining neutrality and confidentiality at all times. The interpreter will also prepare by reviewing client materials, terminology lists, and guidelines, and may assist in documenting key call information or clarifying cultural nuances to support effective communication. Collaboration with supervisors and quality assurance teams to follow established procedures, meet performance metrics, and participate in ongoing training will be part of the role.
Qualifications

• Strong language proficiency: native or near-native fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) and English, with excellent listening and speaking skills in both languages.
• Proven interpreting skills: experience in consecutive or simultaneous interpretation, with the ability to convey tone, intent, and meaning accurately and efficiently.
• Domain knowledge: familiarity with medical, legal, or business terminology and concepts, or willingness to learn and specialize through training.
• Communication and professionalism: clear, culturally sensitive communication style, strong customer service orientation, and ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Technical readiness: reliable high-speed internet, a quiet remote work environment, and comfort using call center platforms and collaboration tools.
• Attention to detail and ethics: commitment to confidentiality, accuracy, impartiality, and adherence to professional interpreting standards and company policies.
• Education and experience: bachelor’s degree in languages, translation/interpretation, communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Availability and flexibility: ability to work full-time with potential scheduling across different time zones; prior remote or virtual call center experience is a plus.
