Job Title: Civil Engineer Job Description We are seeking a Design Engineer with expertise in drainage, stormwater, and sewer infrastructure design. The successful candidate will support a growing portfolio of waterfront and municipal projects throughout NYC. This role is pivotal in planning, modeling, and designing storm drainage and sanitary sewer systems while aiding in permitting efforts and regulatory coordination for projects in environmentally sensitive and coastal areas. This position is ideal for an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) actively pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or an experienced PE familiar with NYC DEP-focused infrastructure projects. Responsibilities Design and prepare plans for storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and combined sewer infrastructure projects. Perform hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analyses and modeling for drainage and stormwater management systems. Develop drainage reports, calculations, and technical design documentation. Support waterfront and coastal infrastructure projects involving drainage conveyance, outfalls, and resiliency considerations. Coordinate and assist with permitting efforts involving local, state, and federal agencies. Evaluate site constraints related to wetlands, coastal zones, floodplains, and environmentally sensitive areas. Collaborate with project managers, environmental scientists, surveyors, and permitting specialists throughout project delivery. Prepare engineering studies, construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates. Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams. Essential Skills 5-8 years of experience in water resources, drainage, sewer, and water infrastructure. Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Hydrocad, and Stormcad. Experience with drainage design, sewage design, waterfront, and permitting. Ability to write drainage reports, modeling summaries, and feasibility studies. Experience with NYC DEP-focused infrastructure projects, SWPPP, combined sewer overflow mitigation, EPA SWMM, green infrastructure, and project management. Additional Skills & Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure. Experience with waterfront infrastructure, outfall design, coastal resiliency, or shoreline projects. Experience coordinating with agencies such as NYC DEP, NYSDEC, USACE, and local municipalities. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
