What We're Looking For: Michael Baker International is seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer - Highway to support our growing Transportation team in Indianapolis, IN. The ideal candidate will be responsible for roadway design and analysis efforts on a variety of transportation infrastructure projects, including highways, local roadways, intersections, bridge-related improvements, and traffic-related projects. This individual will leverage their engineering knowledge and technical expertise to assist with the preparation of studies, design plans, construction documents, reports, calculations, and supporting project documentation. What You'll Do: Assist with roadway design, construction documents, plan production, mapping, reports, and supporting documentation. Gather background information related to project sites, including reviewing as-built plans and existing utility information. Assist with the preparation of design drawings for roadway, bridge, and traffic improvement projects. Support the development of quantity calculations and project cost estimates. Coordinate with design technicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and accurate project deliverables. Assist with permit documentation and regulatory agency submissions. Support preparation for client meetings and project presentations. Participate in internal project meetings and contribute to project discussions. Occasionally conduct site visits and document findings for Project Managers. Coordinate and communicate effectively with engineers, planners, environmental specialists, and other project disciplines. What You Need to Succeed: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's degree preferred. Indiana Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required or ability to obtain Indiana reciprocity. 8+ years of progressive roadway/highway design experience. Traffic engineering experience is a plus. Experience with INDOT roadway design standards and procedures preferred. Proficiency with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to quickly learn company policies, client standards, software platforms, and project procedures. Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Compensation: The approximate compensation range for this position is $100,000 to $130,000 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
