Position: Clean Energy Marketing Intern (Residential Programs) Part Time: 15 hours per week Internship Term: Through end of 2026, with possibility of extension Compensation: $20 per hour About the Collective Clean Energy Fund (CCEF): Collective Clean Energy Fund (CCEF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit financial institution that utilizes and leverages mission-driven capital to fill finance gaps in various clean energy markets, including Colorado. CCEF operates on the “Green Bank” model and identifies unserved and underserved clean energy opportunities and works with a variety of stakeholders to structure finance solutions to bring those opportunities to fruition. CCEF’s vision is a just and equitable transition to a decarbonized and resilient economy, and our mission is to ensure equal access to capital for all. The Internship: The marketing intern will play a key role in supporting CCEF’s marketing initiatives being developed and executed in 2026. Major responsibilities will include: Work with the marketing team to produce digital content for the Residential Department, including quarterly residential contractor email newsletters, residential project spotlights, case studies, blogs, program collateral, and social media content Conduct market research on residential clean energy trends, consumer behavior, and policy developments in Colorado to support strategic planning and outreach initiatives Update website content for Search Engine Optimization, add revised program material, and links as changes arise Gather digital metrics on a monthly basis, including (but not limited to) website, email marketing, and social media insights Develop marketing collateral such as partner toolkits, graphics, educational resources, and reports Knowledge and Qualifications: A passion for the environment and strong interest in clean energy Must have a personal computer and phone for use throughout the internship Must be working towards or have a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or be enrolled as a graduate student in a communications-related field Experience in content creation and management preferred (in a corporate or organizational context) High level of computer proficiency, including but not limited to: Google Workspace/Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, WordPress or similar website management platform, email marketing systems, customer relationship management (CRM) systems (Zoho), video conferencing, and webinars Excellent written and verbal communication skills Attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to multi-task and complete projects related to various programs Skilled in research and communication of research findings Experience working in website content management systems is a plus Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively What You’ll Gain: Experience working with a small nonprofit in a variety of marketing areas, including: Digital and content marketing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Social media marketing Paid search (social media ads and Google Ads) Email marketing Multi-channel analytics A familiarity with environment- and renewable energy-focused work Hands-on experience in the rapidly growing residential clean energy sector, with exposure to policy analysis, market research, and community-based clean energy initiatives specific to Colorado The opportunity to build and expand your professional network Experience as an integral part of a small team that works collaboratively and values all team members’ opinions The intern will report to CCEF’s Content Marketing Associate, Julia Kerrigan, and be under the Marketing Department led by the Content Marketing Manager, Savanna Kirchoff. Location: This will be a remote internship, although there will be opportunities for the intern to join the CCEF team in-person in Colorado for team offsites and working sessions at the CCEF offices in Denver.
