Clinical and Administrative Subject Matter Expert Join Valant as a Clinical & Administrative SME: train behavioral health teams, improve EHR workflows, and help customers launch confidently with tools that support better care. Clinical and Administrative Subject Matter Expert Now more than ever, our world needs mental health professionals. Day in and day out, they’re doing their best to provide exceptional care to an increasing number of patients. But, they’re working with generic or simplistic tools that limit their potential and growth. We want to change all that – by giving behavioral health organizations everything they need to thrive. Valant is an established market-leading, software-as-a-service organization serving the unique needs of the behavioral healthcare industry. Our purpose is to make our world a mentally healthier place and we’re seeking enthusiastic, passionate individuals to join us as we transform the industry! If that sounds like you, we’d like to hear from you. The Clinical and Administrative Subject Matter Expert is essential in introducing new Valant customers to the admin and clinical workflows within Valant IO. In this role, you'll leverage your deep understanding of behavioral health practice operations, from patient intake through clinical documentation and day-to-day scheduling, to provide training to new and existing customers, both in dedicated training sessions and via one-to-many webinar settings. Your clear and concise communication, patience, and passion for helping others will ensure that customers both large and small can confidently run their day-to-day operations and launch successfully on Valant. What You’ll Do Serve as the Admin and Clinical workflow expert throughout implementation, helping customers translate their existing operational processes into effective workflows within Valant. Lead engaging, customer-facing Admin and Clinical training sessions for organizations of varying sizes and complexity, including Valant’s largest and strategic customers. Take a consultative approach to training by understanding how each organization operates today, identifying workflow needs, and recommending best practices within Valant rather than simply demonstrating software functionality. Train customers across key Admin and Clinical workflows, including patient intake and prospect management, scheduling and appointment types, mobile notes and clinical documentation, treatment plans and measures, custom forms, the patient portal, and supervision/co-signing setup, building toward go-live readiness. Partner closely with the Implementation Manager throughout the customer journey to identify training needs, workflow gaps, adoption risks, and areas that may impact operational readiness for go-live. Guide customers through the change-management process associated with adopting a new EHR, helping teams adjust existing processes and build confidence using Valant independently. Identify complex workflow challenges, product limitations, and recurring customer needs, partnering with Implementation, Product, Engineering, Support, and other internal teams as appropriate to drive resolution and share customer feedback. Track training progress in our project management tools throughout each implementation, send recap emails after every session, and log all customer communication in Salesforce. Maintain strong knowledge of Valant and evolving product functionality, incorporating enhancements and changes into customer training while helping customers progress toward independence and successfully graduate from implementation. Contribute to Go-Live Readiness Assessments, evaluating training completion, workflow understanding, and customer adoption ahead of each launch, and manage the SME graduation process as customers complete training. Learn and train confidently on detailed EHR functionality, including scheduling, clinical documentation, treatment plans and measures, custom forms, e-prescribing integrations, and the patient portal. Host live customer-facing webinars for new implementations, and periodically deliver one-off paid training sessions for existing customers requesting additional support, tailoring each session to the specific topics and workflows the customer wants to cover. What You’ll Need Required Experience in behavioral health operations, healthcare administration, EHR implementation/training, or a similar customer-facing environment. Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the confidence to lead virtual training sessions for customers of varying sizes and complexity, including practice owners, clinical leaders, and executive leadership. Ability to understand customer needs and translate existing administrative and clinical processes into effective system workflows. Strong consultative and problem-solving skills, including experience troubleshooting customer issues, identifying product or workflow gaps, and partnering with internal teams to drive resolution. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple customers and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong initiative, adaptability, accountability, and ownership, with the ability to think creatively when resolving customer challenges. Experience working in a B2B SaaS environment. Available Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Pacific Time, based on customer and business needs. Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace suitable for a 100% remote, customer-facing role. Preferred Behavioral Health Administration experience. Experience with hands-on training and project management Proven effectiveness at presenting, leading and facilitating meetings and webinars What Success in 1 Year Looks Like You manage an account load of 15-20 customers in different stages of implementation, consistently completing Admin and Clinical training on schedule and earning an NPS of 80 or above on your sessions. You keep training on track through strong time management and documentation in TaskRay and Salesforce, and you collaborate closely with the Implementation Manager so nothing falls through the cracks. Customers consistently tell you their training made complex workflows make sense, not just technically correct but genuinely clear. Your teach-back sessions are the real test. Customers demonstrate they can run the workflow themselves, not just watch you do it. Your Go-Live Readiness Assessments are accurate and give the Implementation Manager and leadership a clear, honest picture of whether the customer is ready, not an optimistic guess. You hand off graduated accounts to Customer Success (or to Implementation for launch) with well-trained, confident customers who understand their workflows, not customers who need to be retaught after go-live. You independently troubleshoot customer questions and challenges, accurately distinguishing between training or workflow needs, configuration issues, and potential product defects, and escalating appropriately when needed.
