As part of this, the Clinical Assurance Team carries out audits, reviews and assurance activities to ensure processes are effective, consistent and aligned with Armed Forces recruitment standards. As the Lead Clinical Practitioner – Assurance and Audit, you will be a key member of the Clinical Assurance Team within the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) function. Using your clinical expertise, you will help review and assure the quality of Medical Record Assessors' work, ensuring prospective British Army candidates are assessed fairly and in line with medical recruitment policy. We’re looking for someone to join the team on a Fixed Term Contract to cover maternity until the end of February 2027. The role will be hybrid, working 37.5 hours per week, across Monday to Friday, with some occasional travel to Upavon, Wiltshire. Job title: Clinical Lead Practitioner – Assurance and Audit Job Description: What you’ll be doing: Carrying out quality assurance audits and reviews of Medical Record Assessor outputs to ensure compliance with Army medical recruitment standards. Applying clinical expertise and evidence-based judgement to support accurate, consistent, and defensible decisions. Providing constructive feedback, coaching, and support to help assessors develop and maintain competency. Managing audit appeals, monitoring compliance, and identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Collaborating with colleagues to achieve audit performance targets, report findings, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Acting as a key clinical quality contact, supporting stakeholders and promoting a culture of quality, safety, and accountability. Essential qualifications/skills/experience Qualified Healthcare Professionals with experience in post-Registration, such as Nurse, Paramedic or Physiotherapist, NMC or HCPC registered, without restriction IT literate with the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite including, Word, Excel and Outlook Clear and confident communication skills, both verbal and written An ability to critically analyse qualitative and quantitative data, articulating results both verbally and in writing.
