About the Role: Join Our Global Remote Pharmacy Team at Canberra Hospital Canberra Hospital is seeking experienced and adaptable AHPRA-registered pharmacists to join our remote pharmacy service, supporting safe and effective medication management outside standard business hours. Through a time zone-enabled workforce model, pharmacists provide clinical pharmacy services to Canberra Hospital patients during evening, overnight and early morning periods while working standard daytime hours in their local location. We welcome applications from pharmacists holding full AHPRA General Registration who reside, or intend to reside, in locations where local daytime hours align with Canberra Hospital's after-hours service requirements. Applicants must be available to work standard daytime hours in their local location, between 6:30am and 6:30pm local time, while supporting Canberra Hospital's after-hours service. The department runs a successful AdPha accredited residency program, an excellent intern training program and is accredited for several Registrar Training Residency Programs. We are a progressive, forward-thinking department, having introduced credentialed accuracy checking technician roles, implemented Partnered Pharmacist Medication Charting on the main Canberra Hospital site in Garran and implemented a remote clinical pharmacy service to enhance our on-site services. What does the role involve? Remote pharmacists play a critical role in maintaining medication safety and continuity of care when on-site resources are limited, while supporting the multidisciplinary team during the after-hours period. Depending on the business needs, your work may include: · Primarily reviewing and verifying medication orders for supply. · Providing clinical pharmacy services for patients where suitable information can be obtained remotely. · Opportunities to participate in the surgical pre-admission clinic to support pre-operative medication reviews. · Responding to medicines information queries from the multidisciplinary team. · Acting as the first point of contact for pharmacy on call and medicines related queries in the during Canberra Hospital’s after-hours period. To work remotely, applicants must have suitable technical capabilities and equipment to fulfill the functions of the role, including consistent and reliable access to secure internet service capable of supporting videoconferencing. They must also comply with the ACT Government home-based work guidelines which can be provided on request.
