Clinical Quality Improvement Advisor, Part-Time At CPCQC, we are on a mission to ensure that EVERY pregnant and postpartum person, infant, and their families in Colorado have access to and receive safe, equitable, high-quality care. This team is building new collaborations, expanding community connections to care, and driving statewide maternal and infant health quality improvement initiatives. Colorado Perinatal Care Quality Collaborative (CPCQC) is a statewide 501(c)3 nonprofit that works with healthcare facilities, community-based organizations, families in Colorado, and national partners to advance best practices to reduce disparities and improve outcomes in maternal and infant health. As part of our approach, CPCQC facilitates the implementation of AIM Patient Safety Bundles in birthing facilities throughout the state. The Clinical Quality Improvement (QI) Advisor will manage activities related to evidence-based, data-driven, continuous Quality Improvement projects across Colorado in maternal and infant health. The position will primarily support CPCQC's Turning the Tide Perinatal Substance Use quality improvement initiative. The Clinical QI Advisor will be knowledgeable about quality improvement concepts, methods, and tools, enabling them to facilitate and guide project teams in advancing their quality improvement skills and clinical improvement efforts. This role functions within a Clinical QI team, including a Deputy Director of Clinical QI, QI Advisor colleagues, Program Managers, and a Data and Analytics team. Responsibilities: Serve as the first point of contact with hospital-based teams, including coordinating resources, promoting communication, and facilitating technical assistance. Facilitate structured hospital quality improvement through quarterly 1:1 coaching sessions, including setting SMART objectives, identifying improvement opportunities, conducting Plan-Do-Study-Act cycles, and establishing 30-60-90-day improvement plans. Collaborate with the Deputy Director of Clinical QI, peer QI advisors, data team, and partner organizations to support data collection, including technical assistance, incorporating innovative approaches for improvement, and improving data quality Prioritize race, ethnicity, and language data collection and analysis to support hospitals in identifying and addressing disparities in healthcare delivery and outcomes Facilitate the review, benchmarking, and evaluation of QI facility project team plan results to drive improvement efforts; Discuss and suggest methods to address improvement plan challenges and barriers Connect project teams to resources such as evidence-based models and peer learning opportunities Work with CPCQC staff to develop poster, publication, and abstract templates to showcase QI work locally and nationally Coach teams on how to apply improvement concepts, methods, and tools to their current and future improvement efforts Plan and co-lead monthly collaborative learning sessions among health care team QI project participants with an eye towards facilitation of QI discussions, including content and expert speakers Contribute to data interpretation delivered by the data analyst and suggest ideas for clinical improvements/interventions based on Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) presentations Present Quality Improvement-related topics at collaborative meetings, forums, summits, webinars, and project team meetings. Document progress toward project-related objectives for reports to stakeholders (including the Board of Directors, grant funders, steering committees, etc.); Participate in grant reporting requirements Monitor progress toward project goals for cohorts and for individual healthcare facilities, including data outcomes, control charts, run charts, and more Work with CPCQC staff to secure continuing medical education credits for project programming; lead and manage continuing medical education applications, course requirements, and reporting. Track each hospital’s progress toward meeting the requirements of Colorado Senate Bill 24-175 using CPCQC's engagement tracker. Collaborate with a team of QI advisors to lead QI 101 training up to 4 times annually. Required: 2+ years of experience leading or supporting clinical or public health quality improvement initiatives. 2+ years of clinical experience in maternal-child health or a related healthcare setting (e.g., RN, CNM, NP, MD, case manager, social worker). Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare quality improvement methodologies and ability to apply them in practice. Strong facilitation, coaching, and communication skills. Experience working with healthcare data and complying with HIPAA and data security requirements. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, team-based environment. Experience with electronic medical records and equity-focused improvement work. This is a part-time, hourly position working in the state of Colorado, 20 hours per week. Candidates must live in Colorado or relocate to Colorado within six months of the hire date at their own expense for this position. While this position is remote, employees are expected to attend events and meetings in person across the state as needed. The hourly rate for this position is $35-43/hour based on qualifications. This position also includes a benefit package (medical, dental, retirement, 50% employer paid) and unlimited paid time off (up to 20 hours a week for part-time employees).
