Apply Job Type Full-time Description POSITION SUMMARY The Clinical Supervisor serves as the senior clinical leader for psychiatric and addiction medicine services, providing high-quality direct patient care while advancing clinical excellence, safety, and program development across the organization. This role functions as the clinical authority for psychiatric and medication-assisted treatment (MOUD) services, offering consultation, supervision, and oversight of prescribing practices while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration across behavioral health, nursing, case management, and crisis services. The role includes up to eight (8) hours per week of protected time for supervision, consultation, quality oversight, and staff development. Clinical productivity expectations apply to remaining scheduled clinical hours and are adjusted based on staffing and program needs. This position may be filled by a Medical Doctor (MD/DO) or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with demonstrated leadership experience and does not assume Medical Director regulatory responsibilities unless formally designated. Location: While this position is remote, the selected candidate must reside in (or be willing to relocate to, in a reasonable timeframe) one of the following states: Kansas, or Colorado - with transferable licensure to Colorado, if not registered in the state of Colorado. Additionally, the selected candidate will need to perform the work duties on Mountain Standard Time, and hours of operation will be between 7:30am and 6:30pm MST. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Clinical & Prescribing Care • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and substance use assessments across the lifespan. • Diagnose and treat mental health and substance use disorders using evidence-based practices. • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications and medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD). • Monitor treatment effectiveness, safety, adherence, and side effects. • Order and interpret laboratory studies and coordinate medical monitoring as clinically indicated. • Conduct suicide risk assessments and support crisis evaluation and stabilization. • Ensure safe prescribing practices, including PDMP review and controlled substance oversight. MOUD & Co-Occurring Program Leadership • Provide clinical leadership for addiction and co-occurring disorder services. • Promote harm-reduction, recovery-oriented, and trauma-informed prescribing practices. • Support development and refinement of psychiatric and SUD clinical protocols. • Advance integrated care models across behavioral health and medical services. • Partner with teams to improve engagement, retention, and continuity of care. Leadership, Consultation & Supervision • Serve as the clinical authority for psychiatric standards of care and complex case consultation. • Provide consultation and guidance to prescribers, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams. • Supervise and mentor assigned medical staff and support professional development. • Participate in performance evaluations and workforce development initiatives. • Provide high-risk case consultation and support complex clinical decision-making. • Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning for medical staff. Quality, Safety & Compliance • Promote medication safety and evidence-based prescribing practices. • Monitor prescribing trends and participate in quality improvement initiatives. • Participate in peer review, utilization review, and performance improvement activities. • Assist with regulatory readiness and accreditation processes. • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, DEA regulations, and Colorado PDMP requirements. • Participate in review of adverse medication events and critical incidents as assigned. Systems Collaboration & Program Support • Partner with executive leadership in development of psychiatric and addiction service line strategy. • Participate in interdisciplinary care coordination and population health initiatives. • Support workflow optimization, access improvement, and service expansion planning. • Collaborate with internal and external partners to strengthen care transitions. • Maintain timely and accurate documentation consistent with agency and payer standards. This description reflects the primary responsibilities of the role and is intended to provide clarity and transparency, while recognizing that duties may evolve based on organizational and program needs. Requirements WORK CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Combination of direct clinical care and leadership responsibilities, with adequately allocated time to perform supervisory duties • In-person and telehealth service delivery • Valid drivers license in the state of Colorado or Kansas • Participation in on-call or crisis consultation rotation as assigned • Travel within service area as needed • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays, as assigned • Ability to lift up to 50lbs on occasion within an office setting SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position supervises up to twelve (12) direct reports within the medical team, which may include prescribers, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and/or medical assistants. Responsibilities include clinical oversight, workload distribution, professional development, and participation in performance management processes. JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION & LICENSURE • MD or DO with experience in Psychiatry OR • PMHNP with national certification and prescriptive authority • Active Colorado license in good standing (DORA) • DEA registration and prescriptive authority required • DATA waiver (if applicable) or willingness to obtain MOUD prescribing competency • Experience with prescribing MOUD required Preferred Qualifications • Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry • Experience treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders • Prior leadership, consultation, or supervisory experience • Experience in community mental health, integrated care, or safety-net settings EXPERIENCE • Minimum 3 years post-licensure psychiatric prescribing experience • Demonstrated experience treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders • Prior leadership, consultation, or supervisory experience preferred • Community mental health, integrated care, or safety-net experience strongly preferred ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS • Advanced psychiatric diagnostic and psychopharmacology expertise • Knowledge of addiction medicine and MOUD best practices • Ability to provide clinical leadership and interdisciplinary consultation • Strong clinical judgment, risk assessment, and decision-making skills • Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation abilities • Commitment to culturally responsive, recovery-oriented care • Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment Centennial Mental Health is an approved site for National Health Service Corps (NHSC) and Colorado Health Service Corps (CHSC) program participants. Please note that participants in these programs may be required to report to work at an approved in-person site and engage in additional client facing duties to ensure program compliance, even if the posted role is indicated fully remote or hybrid. Participants are responsible for ensuring their compliance with in-person and client facing work requirements under NHSC/CHSC programs, if applicable. Salary Description $130,000 - 147,500/yr
