What you're applying for We're looking for a Car Claims Advocate to help us handle high-value bodily injury claims with the care, rigor, and empathy they deserve. You'll join our Car Claims team as a specialist in injury claims — someone who knows how to move fast without cutting corners, and who can guide customers through some of their most stressful moments with clarity and confidence. In this role you'll Investigate and process injury claims end-to-end, making sure every decision holds up to both policy standards and state or federal law Gather and evaluate police reports, medical records, and witness statements to build a clear, accurate picture of each claim Interview claimants, witnesses, and medical providers to assess legitimacy and determine liability Set appropriate claim values and negotiate settlements that are fair, defensible, and efficient Collaborate with legal counsel and internal teams when claims escalate — keeping everyone aligned and moving forward Communicate status and outcomes to all parties with professionalism and genuine empathy Stay sharp on industry trends, evolving regulations, and medical terminology so your judgment stays current What you'll need 4+ years of injury liability claim-handling experience A background managing litigated and attorney-represented files — a strong advantage Solid knowledge of insurance laws and regulations Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to connect dots across complex files Clear, confident written and verbal communication — no jargon, no runaround Comfort working independently while staying closely connected to a collaborative team Proficiency with claims management software and Microsoft Office A genuine curiosity about technology, and the adaptability to grow with new tools as they evolve Empathy, patience, and a positive presence — especially when customers need it most A college degree Ready to work in a remote environment Lemonade expects all advocates to hold and maintain a license in good standing. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
