Collections Specialist

Salary Range: $24.00 To $26.00 Hourly AOM Infusion is a leading provider of home and specialty infusion therapy, dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across the communities we serve. AOM Infusion is looking for a Collections Specialist to join our team. This is a full time, remote position. POSITION OVERVIEW The Collections Specialist is responsible for calling/collecting on commercial, Federal and Patient accounts. Their responsibilities include securing payment for services rendered, tracking trends with Insurance carriers, educating co-workers on the trends. The Collections Specialist will maintain collection/billing notes and document all activities in Specialty Pharmacy Business Operating, Electronic Document Management Systems and on the monthly AR spreadsheet. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES To work on follow-ups daily and maintain follow up report with no more than a one-week lag from date assigned. To aggressively pursue reimbursement for assigned payors/accounts and document all findings in our electronic medical records system. Assist with collection activities as directed by Team Manager. To ensure all assigned payor correspondence is worked within one week of being received. To maintain productivity standards at or above the expected level as assigned by Senior Revenue Cycle Management monthly. To maintain aging status over 120 days at or below the assigned department standard. To work with billing staff and administrative assistants to ensure corrected claims and needed documentation are submitted timely and accurately. To assist in reducing our DSO and increasing our collections in any way possible. Re-verifying patient insurance coverage as needed or as assigned. Train other collectors as needed. Assist in any other project given by Team Manager. REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or Equivalent Collections in a Home Infusion environment. A strong understanding of the different types of insurance plans Good communication skills, organizational skills and self-motivated worker. Computer literate.
