Commercial Analyst

This is a great opportunity for an analytically strong, detail-driven individual to build deep commercial and financial modelling experience, working closely with the Head of Commercial to support strategy execution, partner performance and new market opportunities.

Our client is an innovative fintech company transforming access to financial services across Africa. Working with leading FS partners, they combine technology, data and commercial insight to deliver financial products that create meaningful impact at scale.

What you'll be doing

• Build financial models, forecasts and opportunity-sizing analysis to support new product and market decisions.
• Support the execution of commercial strategies across multiple African markets, working closely with the Head of Commercial.
• Conduct market research, competitor analysis and commercial assessments to identify growth opportunities.
• Prepare clear, well-structured presentations, business cases and reports that translate analysis into recommendations.
• Support Country Managers and Strategic Partnership teams with data and analysis to optimise commercial performance.
• Contribute analytical support to pricing strategies, commercial negotiations and go-to-market initiatives with key financial services and telecommunications partners.

What we're looking for

• Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics or a related field.
• Advanced Excel skills with hands-on financial modelling capability is essential.
• Approximately 3-5 years' experience in a commercial, business analytics, or FP&A role (exposure to consulting, banking, telco or fintech is a plus).
• Strong analytical rigour and attention to detail, with the ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable insight.
• A self-starter who's comfortable working autonomously in a fast-moving, remote-first environment.
• A coachable, curious mindset. Someone eager to build deeper commercial and strategic capability over time, not necessarily arrive with it fully formed.
• Exposure to AI tools (e.g. Claude) and modern ways of working.
