Commercial and Data Privacy Attorney

Masuda Funai is seeking a California-licensed commercial law associate with 2 to 5 years of commercial and data privacy law experience for our Torrance, CA office. Summary In this role, you will primarily assist clients with commercial contract drafting and review, advice on regulatory compliance, and data privacy compliance and audits, as required by the Practice Group. Essential Functions Draft, review, or revise general non-disclosure agreements, terms and conditions of sale or purchase, and other general commercial agreements Draft and review licensing agreements for software and other forms of intellectual property Conduct research and draft appropriate legal memoranda on legal compliance issues for routine business matters Assist with annual and semi-annual audit processes for multinational corporate groups for compliance with state and federal data privacy laws Work in coordination with non-US lawyers for completion of global data privacy compliance programs for corporate clients Draft, review, or revise data privacy policies for use in US market by business clients Assist with due diligence reviews in M&A transactions Respond to clients in a timely, forthright, and professional manner Coordinate and collaborate with attorneys, legal assistants, and assigned staff, as well as provide reasonable support to colleagues Required Qualifications Active license to practice law in California Juris Doctor from an accredited law school 2-5 years of data privacy and commercial law experience at a law firm Federal and state court experience a plus Superior verbal and written communication skills Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Flexible and adaptable with the ability to multi-task Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate Able to work independently in a fast-paced work environment Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Benefits Associate Mentoring Program Hybrid, flexible schedule Generous PTO policy Remote work stipend for technology, home office, and incidentals Premium medical, dental, and vision plans Flexible spending accounts for medical, dependent care, and commuter benefits Complimentary Identity Protection Coverage Generous 401(k) profit sharing plan and access to a personal financial advisor Optional Voluntary Life, Accident, Critical Illness, Short-term Disability, and Pet Insurance ​​ Compensation The salary range for this position is based upon various factors including the individual's experience, skills, and qualifications. An estimate of the salary range for individuals working a hybrid schedule in our Torrance office is $145,000- $170,000.
