The Customer Relationship Manager is a blended Business Development Representative (BDR) and Sales Development Representative (SDR) role. Its primary purpose is to secure well-qualified meetings for the Workforce Commercial team and create a consistent flow of relevant stakeholder conversations.
The postholder will work across warm and cold lead sources. This includes responding to inbound enquiries and stakeholders who engage through events or webinars; following up Commercial team approaches and existing pipeline opportunities; and making targeted cold approaches linked to campaigns, priority accounts and market activity.
The role requires confident outbound communication, strong organisation and disciplined follow-up, alongside fluency in using AI-enabled tools and processes to improve research, personalise outreach, manage activity and work efficiently. Success depends not only on the volume of meetings booked, but also on their relevance, quality, attendance and potential to progress a commercial opportunity.

- Handle objections professionally, adapt communication style to different stakeholders and maintain a positive experience of Liaison Group.
Account Director and pipeline support
- Follow up introductions, approaches and priority contact lists provided by the Commercial Team.
- Re-engage existing pipeline opportunities where contact has slowed, key stakeholders have changed or a new route into the account is required.
- Work with the Commercial Team to agree the purpose, target stakeholders and qualification criteria for each outreach activity.
Stakeholder research and prospecting
- Identify relevant decision-makers, influencers, operational stakeholders and executive support contacts within target organisations.
- Maintain awareness of Liaison Workforce services, the NHS workforce market and the issues likely to create a reason for engagement.
- Use ethical, professional prospecting practices and represent Liaison Group consistently across every channel.
CRM, reporting and data quality
- Use approved AI-enabled tools and processes to support account and stakeholder research, create and refine personalised outreach, summarise activity, identify follow-up actions and improve day-to-day efficiency, while checking outputs for accuracy and complying with company information security and data protection requirements.
- Record contacts, activity, outcomes, next steps and meeting details accurately and promptly in the CRM.
- Maintain accurate stakeholder data, including role changes and movements between NHS organisations.
- Provide clear reporting on activity, meetings secured, outcomes, conversion and barriers to progress.
- Use data and feedback to prioritise the most effective lead sources, campaigns and approaches.
Collaboration
- Work closely with Commercial teams, other Commercial Relationship Managers, Marketing and Senior leadership team to align outreach with commercial priorities.
- Support agreed marketing campaigns across the wider business when required, while maintaining a primary focus on Workforce.
- Share market insight, stakeholder feedback and recurring objections that may improve campaigns, propositions and commercial conversations.
- Contribute positively to team meetings, coaching and continuous improvement activity.
