Communications Manager Location: Austin / Remote US Brinqa is a leader in unified cyber risk management and security analytics. Our platform enables organizations to identify, prioritize, and remediate risk across their environments—reducing response times and protecting critical business operations. Brinqa is looking for a Communications Manager to join our Marketing team—owning how Brinqa shows up in the world: in the press, on social, inside the company, and in the communities where our practitioners spend their time. You’ll report to the CMO and work closely with the full marketing team (content, growth, product marketing, and more) as well as executive leadership. This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role on a lean team: you’ll set the strategy and do the work. If you enjoy owning a company’s voice across press, social, and internal channels—and want the autonomy to shape that strategy yourself—this role is for you. WHAT YOU’LL OWN PR: Set direction and manage our PR agency, translating Brinqa’s priorities into story angles and campaigns the agency executes against. Prepare executives for interviews and briefings, draft press releases and statements, and track coverage and share of voice against competitors. Executive thought leadership: Ghost-write bylines, LinkedIn posts, and talking points for executive leadership, turning their perspective and voice into content that lands in Brinqa’s brand voice. Internal and external communications: Write and manage company announcements, leadership communications, and employee-facing updates. Serve as a first line on issues and crisis communications, keeping messaging consistent, accurate, and on-brand across every audience. Social media, including Octopost: Own Brinqa’s social strategy and day-to-day execution across LinkedIn and other priority channels. Manage content calendars and publishing through Octopost, track performance, and iterate on what’s working. Reddit (organic): Build and maintain an authentic, non-paid presence in the subreddits where security practitioners actually spend time. Empower team members to engage as a credible voice in the community (not a marketing account) and surface what practitioners are saying back to the team. HOW YOU’LL WORK Partner closely with the full marketing team (content, growth, product marketing, and more) and with executive leadership to align messaging and priorities Operate independently on a small, fast-moving team, prioritizing across many concurrent workstreams Bring judgment on when and how to engage—authentically rather than promotionally—across every channel and audience WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR 5+ years of experience in communications, PR, or social media, ideally in B2B tech or cybersecurity A track record of securing earned media coverage and managing an outside PR agency Excellent writing skills, with the ability to adapt tone across press releases, executive comms, internal updates, and social copy Hands-on experience running social media programs and tools (Octopost or similar social management platforms) Familiarity with Reddit and other community platforms, and the judgment to engage there authentically rather than promotionally NICE TO HAVE Security, IT, or enterprise SaaS industry experience IMPACT & GROWTH Shape how Brinqa is perceived by press, customers, and the security community Build out the communications function as the company scales Partner directly with executive leadership on high-visibility, high-impact work WHY JOIN BRINQA High-impact product used by enterprise customers Backed by Insight Partners ($110M investment) Strong growth stage with real opportunity to influence direction Collaborative, high-performing marketing team Brinqa is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to building an inclusive workplace.
